Chandra Kishore Mina Awarded President’s Police Medal

IGP Chandra Kishore Mina By Dheeraj Fartode Chandra Kishore Mina, an IPS officer of the 2006 batch, has been awarded the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service. Currently serving as Special Inspector General of Police (IGP) for the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Mina has held several important positions in Nagpur and the Vidarbha region. While serving as ASP in Gadchiroli, Mina led a successful anti-Naxal operation in 2009, which resulted in the Petha encounter, weakening the Naxal movement. This operation earned him the DG Insignia. President’s Police Medal announced for Dr Arti Singh

By Dheeraj Fartode The Union Government has also announced the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service to Dr Arti Singh, an IPS officer of the 2006 batch. Singh has held several key positions in Nagpur, including Superintendent of Police (SP) for Nagpur Rural, SP CID Nagpur, and Vidarbha region and is currently posted as Special IGP (Admin) for the State Police. Singh’s first posting was as ASP in Bhamragad, Gadchiroli, in 2008, after which she became ASP in Gadchiroli. She later served as SP in Bhandara, Nagpur Rural, CID Nagpur, Aurangabad, Nashik Rural, CP in Amravati City, and Additional CP in Mumbai City. Known for her hands-on approach and working closely with ground-level staff, Dr. Singh has made major contributions to the State police. Tushar Sakhare Receives President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service

Tushar D Sakhare, an officer serving as Senior Commandant of the CISF Unit at Amritsar Airport, was also honoured with the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service. Sakhare, a resident of Nagpur, joined the CISF in 2005 and has had a distinguished career, serving in 12 different CISF units across India. He cracked down on coal mafias in West Bengal, where he conducted thousands of raids and recovered a major amounts of stolen coal. Sakhare has represented the CISF and India in two United Nations Peacekeeping Missions, where his service earned him two UN Medals. He has also been recognized with several awards, including the Director General Commendation Disc in 2015, for his dedication and excellence.

Roshan Yadav Awarded the President's Police Medal for Meritorious Service

Roshan Yadav, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) in the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Nagpur, was awarded the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service. Yadav has made significant contributions in fighting corruption, particularly in sensitive areas like Gadchiroli and Gondia, which are affected by Naxal activity. He has been involved in several successful operations against Naxals, including the seizure of important materials and the recovery of bodies during operations in dense forests. Yadav has also worked in various districts such as Nagpur, Gondia, and Chandrapur, where he led efforts against inter-state gangs involved in ATM thefts, robberies, and other serious crimes. His also did Grey Hound Commandos training at Hyderabad and also excelled in sports as well.

CP Dr Singal Receives President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service

CP Dr Ravinder Singal Commissioner of Police (CP), Dr Ravinder Kumar Singal, was awarded the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Police Service. This prestigious recognition underlined his remarkable leadership and dedicated efforts in policing, stated a press release of City police.  Dr Singal, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 1996 Maharashtra cadre, took charge as Nagpur’s Commissioner in February 2024. DCP spits and assaults accused in custody

By Dheeraj Fartode Shocking allegations of misconduct have emerged against a police officer in Nagpur City Police. The officer is accused of abusive and degrading behaviour, particularly targeting accused in Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Sources claim that the senior officer arrives at the police station and calls the accused into a separate room, where the officer not only hurls abuse at the accused but also spits at their face. Later, the officer allegedly kicks the accused in the private parts. In some incidents, when a couple approached a police station in Nagpur to file a complaint following a domestic dispute, the police sent a proposal for preventive action to the officer. However, instead of handling the matter professionally, the officer allegedly made the man sit down, then kicked him in the private parts and leave him in pain and humiliation. Probe into illegal Bangladeshi migrants in City hits dead-end

By Dheeraj Fartode Since all 83 of the detained suspected Bangladeshi migrants have successfully produced residencial documentats, the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and Nagpur Police’s investigation into illegal immigrants from Bangladesh has come to a standstill. The suspects were captured from the MIHAN, Bastarwadi (close to Santra Market), and Marwadi Square (Shanti Nagar) on December 28, last year. The people from Bastarwadi and Marwadi Square worked in nearby clothing companies, whereas the people from MIHAN were mostly construction workers. The accused showed residential certificates from the West Bengal districts of Murshidabad, Nandigram, East Midnapore and the 24 Parganas during the questioning.The police then questioned the suspects specific questions like - name of local MPs and MLAs as part of a two-step verification process.
