Sniffer Dogs to hunt Drugs, Drones to scan rooftops and 131 police checking points

The City police have put in place a high-tech security plan for New Year’s Eve to ensure safe and peaceful celebrations. Sniffer dogs will be used to hunt down drug consumption on city roads, while drones will scan rooftops and isolated areas to prevent illegal activities. In addition, police will set up checking and nakabandi at 131 points across the city to keep strict watch on drunk driving and maintain law and order throughout the night. Around 2,500 policemen, from police constables to the Police Commissioner , will be deployed on city roads to ensure public safety and prevent any untoward incidents during the celebrations. City admin gears up for ‘Krishi Vasant’

Pranab Mukherjee City administration is gearing up for mega-farm fair ‘Krishi Vasant’ at city. Senior administrative officers on Monday visited the spot, where the farm fair would be organised, and issued necessary directions. President of India Pranab Mukherjee will inaugurate the farm fair, which will be held at the Central Institute for Cotton Research (CICR), Panjra on Wardha Road between February 9 and 13. During their joint inspection, Divisional Commissioner B V Gopala Reddy, Collector Saurabh Rao, Joint Commissioner of Police Sanjay Saxena, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Chandra Kishore Mina and Director of CICR Dr. Keshav Kranthi reached the spot on Monday afternoon and examined entire route.
