Major reshuffle expected in Maharashtra Police leadership

The State Home Department in Maharashtra is gearing up for a significant overhaul of its top police leadership, including the position of Director General of Police (DGP) and Police Commissioners of Nagpur and Thane. The impending retirement of the current DGP, Rajnish Seth, on December 31 has prompted the department to commence the process of selecting his successor.A top rank official said that several prominent names have emerged as contenders for the esteemed position of State DGP. The frontrunner is Senior IPS Officer Rashmi Shukla, who currently serves as the Director General (DG) of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar is also a strong candidate for the role. Other notable contenders include Thane CP Jaijeet Singh, DG ATS Sadanand Date, DG Police Housing Sandeep Bishnoi, DG Railway Pradnya Sarvade, Additional Director of NIA Atulchandra Kulkarni, and DG State Security Corporation Bipin Kumar Singh, he said. Exact plan of the accused to kill Yug

By Dheeraj Fartode Rajesh Daware and Arvind Singh had a plan to kill Yug after abduction as Yug could have easily identified them and obviously there were no chances for Yug to survive his abductors. As per their nefarious designs, they were to demand ransom of Rs five crore and ask Dr Chandak to come at Kanhan with the money. They had planned to board in a North bound train and show Yug’s t-shirt when the train would start moving. They had decided to collect money in a running train and flee from the state. Responding to this grave statistical detail, Maharashtra’s Director General of Police (DGP) Pravin Dixit has asked the force to list out old cases pending in the court for more than five years and ensure that they are not delayed further for want of appearance of Police officers or Investigation Officers (IOs).  Very often, the IO gets transferred and with passage of time loses interest in pursuing criminal case filed during his tenure. Girl concocts abduction story to marry Facebook friend

Nayak was suspended for not joining duties at Nagpur range  By Dheeraj Fartode Suspended Sub-Inspector of Maharashtra Police Daya Nayak (famously knows as encounter specialist) was reinstated by Home Department on Monday. Nayak was suspended in July 2015 for not joining his duties after transfer to Nagpur Range.  State Director General of Police (DGP) Pravin Dixit confirmed the development and said that Nayak was reinstated. As to his posting, DGP Dixit thought gave hint refused to pinpoint the place. While talking with The Hitavada Nayak said he is yet to receive communication from the Government. Cops act swiftly, rescue kidnapped boy from Khapa

By Dheeraj Fartode First came the tears, then the exhaustion.  This is how 14-year-old Chaitanya Ashtankar reacted after the cops reunited him with his family well past midnight. He had survived a nightmare of his life, since he was kidnapped from Manish Nagar on Thursday. There were people, mediamen, cops. Everyone trying to ask or tell something. But, the feeling of relief from a nightmare was so heavy on Chaitanya that he went straight to sleep, to get some rest, to have some time with himself, and to be ‘at home’.  On Friday, after kidnappers called Chaitanya’s parents and demanded ransom, the cops got what they were waiting for. 14-year-old boy abducted from Manish Nagar locality

By Dheeraj Fartode Abduction of a 14-year-old teenager by unidentified persons from Manish Nagar locality has triggered panic in the city. The teenager was on way home after coming home from school, Montfort, when unidentified persons travelling in a four wheeler whisked him away on Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred under jurisdiction of Sonegaon police station. The teenager is identified as Chaitanya Subhash Ashtankar (14) -- a student of standard VIII. The abduction was witnessed by the teenager's friend and when former was just 100 metres from his home. The kidnappers bundled him in car and drove away from the spot. Cops are groping in  dark as parents of the victim told the investigators that they have no enemy nor do they have received any ransom call.
