Shocker : Push to reopen Dabo Club after Christmas Night double murder

Dabo club Nagpur Efforts to reopen the controversial Dabo Club, which was shut down for 45 days following the murder of two young men, have triggered strong anger and fear among the families of the victims. The incident took place in the early hours of December 26 last year during a Christmas party at Dabo Club. Pranav Ranavare (27) was allegedly killed after a minor dispute. His friend, Gaurav Karda (34), was badly injured in the same incident and later died during treatment.  The Sonegaon police arrested six accused - Soumya Deshmukh, Mehul alias Monu Rahate, Rajiv Chawla, Abhay Jhamtani, Gappu Sharma and Tushar Nankani. All the accused are currently lodged in jail. The club is owned by Directors Devyani Vijay Wadettiwar, Karan Vikram Thakkar and Mohd Hamza Rayeen. Video of Panipuri seller collecting waste water goes viral

A wave of anger erupted among the netizens on Wednesday after video of a Panipuri seller went viral on social media. The seller was seen collecting water from the rain puddle and filling it in water can which he later took to his Panipuri stall for serving the customers. 
The video was subject to discussion among the netizens on WhatsApp and Twitter throughout day. Though source of the video was not confirmed till late night but the person who recorded the video stated that it was recorded at Gurudeo Nagar in Nandanvan area of the city. 
The Hitavada twitted the video to Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s (NMC) official twitter handle and to Nagpur City Police. The NMC in its reply to the tweet said, strict action would be taken against the person. However, Nagpur City Police did not respond to the tweet. 


Two persons drawn in Vena river near Hingna 


Two persons drowned in Vena River in Hingna police station area during Ganesh idol immersion on Wednesday evening. The deceased were identified as Suresh Shivaram Firke (48) and Ajinkya Ramesh Firke (18) both residents of Digdoh Devi, MIDC. Suresh is uncle of Ajinkya, said police. According to police, Suresh and Ajinkya went to the river near Khairi Panase village for Ganesh idol immersion. They were taking bath in the river after immersing the Ganesh idol. Suresh suddenly lost balance and fell in the river. As he started drowning in the river, Ajinkya moved to save him. He too drowned in the river. Upon receiving the information, Hingna police led by PI Sapna Kshirsagar rushed to the spot. 

Youth murdered in Butibori 

A youth was murdered by his friend in Butibori area on Tuesday. 
The accused - Tilakchandra Chiru Bag (24), a resident of Odisha - was arrested by police from Gondia railway station for killing his friend - Karan Bag (23), a resident of Odisha. According to police, the accused had killed Karan Bag over food. The accused has been booked under Section 302 of Indian Penal Code. 

API Patil shifted to Control Room 

Assistant Police Inspector (API) Patil of Tehsil police station has been shifted to Police Control Room by Commissioner of Police (CP) Dr. B K Upadhayaya on the complaint of BJP MLA Krishna Khopde. 
A press release issued by MLA Khopde stated that the Police Commissioner would conduct inquiry of DB Squad of the police station. API Patil had not conducted fair inquiry in the case, the press release stated. 

House burgled in Koradi

Gold ornaments and cash collectively worth Rs 2.29 lakh were stolen from the house of Shrikant Dhnyaneshwar Lahane (30) in Koradi police station area on Tuesday. 
According to police, Lahane, a resident of Plot No. 106, Aadarsh Nagar, had gone to relative’s place when the theft took place. The thief entered the house after breaking-open latch of front door and walked away with the booty kept in an almirah. Koradi police have registered the case. 

Restaurent owner attack customer for 10 rupees 

A customer was attacked by a restaurent owner with a rod for remaining food bill of Rs 10 in Jaripatka police station area on Tuesday afternoon. 
According to police, Suraj Shantaram Pimpale (34), a resident of Pawan Nagar, Yashodhara Nagar, had gone to Hemraj Bhojnalay for lunch.

DCP Sunil Kolhe gets IPS cadre
