District and Sessions Judge V P Ingle held Satish Sushilkumar Shukla (31), Shailesh Sushilkumar Shukla (30), Vipin Shrikant Mishra (26), Buland Shrikant Mishra (21), Rakesh alias Jeet Harikishan Meshram (20), a resident of Mankapur, guilty of brutal murder of Ashish Kalicharan Dubey (26) and awarded lifer to them. The HQ has sanctioned the identified land for acquisition and is waiting for approval of State’s industries ministry By Dheeraj Fartode Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), Head Quarter has given approval for land acquisition of 3816 acres land in Kuhi and Umrer tehsils for the proposed National Infrastructure Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ). It has submitted a proposal in this connection recently to the Industry Ministry. MIDC, Nagpur region, has also geared up for land acquisition for the second phase and identified 2316 acres of land situated nearby phase one. Now, MIDC is waiting for no objection certificates (NOC) from forest, mining and town planning departments for the second phase. The cops are going in old fashioned way to isolate the suspects by trying to find the last person to see the three girls alive, said a senior officer familiar with the line of investigation. Right now there are several theories about motive, and police are trying to build case in each of the scenarios to get the leads. By Dheeraj Fartode With Regional Transport Office (RTO) intensifying its drive to check safety norms on buses transporting school students, the aggrieved owners have given a call for a one day strike on February 5. Shaley Vidhyarthi Bus Wahatukdar Kalyankari Sangh (SVBWKS), the Association of owners whose buses are engaged by schools, are feeling the heat of the RTO drive. They have alleged that RTO action is bordering on harassment, as the agency goes about checking whether the bus owners have implemented stringent norms for safety as notified by Sate Government. For juvenile delinquents this statement fits cent per cent, given the rising trend of their involvement in crimes whose mere mention sends shiver down the spine of everyone. In fact, police statistics reveal that juvenile delinquents in 16-18 age group are at forefront in committing violent crimes. And when one thinks deeply the comparison is obvious; is it easy to contain a hard-core criminal if he is major, and in dealing with juvenile offenders, is police department clueless? This is apparent as more and more crimes, that are considered major, the accused involved are juvenile. But in the eyes of law of land they are juvenile delinquents, they cannot be sentenced to a prison term. So the maximum sentence as per existing law is, a stay at Reform Centres.
