Murmadi death case: Cops still clueless, searches on

Minister Dr  Nitin Raut, SP Aarti Singh and others, visiting the
crime spot from where bodies of the three girls were recovered.

Bhandara police are exploring six theories to crack the rape-cum-murder case of three sisters of village Murmadi in Lakhni tehsil of Bhandara district. The cops are going in old fashioned way to isolate the suspects by trying to find the last person to see the three girls alive, said a senior officer familiar with the line of investigation. Right now there are several theories about motive, and police are trying to build case in each of the scenarios to get the leads.
One of the basic presumption of investigators is that girls knew the assailants and hence they readily accompanied him. Now, whether that person was a relative or just a casual acquaintance, forms the main line of the investigators, it is learnt. The girls had gone with a man and his accomplices who then committed the heinous crime that has shook the entire State.

As the place of crime happens to be remote area, the cops are relying heavily on the inputs from the villagers. And, that is where the mistrust among the locals is acting as a major hindrance in the investigations, the sources claimed. Cops have launched manhunt for the person, which whom the girls had gone to school. “Surely, some of the villagers must have spotted the girls with the accused person on February 14 but no one is coming forward to help us,” one of the police officer stated.

Acting upon claims of villagers, the cops are also examining involvement of inter-state gang of criminals in the ghastly incident. Workers from adjoining State were working at one of the construction site and some criminal element among them could be involved, but at this stage there is no definite clue. Bhandara police have formed ten-teams who are working day and night on the case. So far 20-persons were interrogated but cops are still looking for that one clue to get going.

IGP Prasanna : The man who stopped Obama’s convoy

IGP Mallikarjuna Prasanna By Dheeraj Fartode  Published on Feb/17/2019 NOT many are aware of an episode during the then US President Barack Obama’s visit to India in 2010. The world’s most powerful man was made to wait for 11 minutes in his car while an Indian cop took on American officials for their unwarranted interference in the US President’s security. KM Mallikarjuna Prasanna, Special Inspector General of Police of Nagpur Range, still continues to work with the same pride, wearing his patriotism on the sleeve. “Had they (Americans) deployed their personnel for area security, then the message would have been Indians are unable to protect VIPs in their nation,” recounted Prasanna on the episode that is one of the highlights of his distinguished career of a skillful investigator. The story of the IPS officer of 2000 batch is worth a film. In fact, a movie (Nagarjun-starrer ‘Officer’) has already been made by Ram Gopal Verma last year. His real life script also ha

It is situated at the confluence of five rivers -- Wainganga, Kanhan, Aam, Kolari and Murza. Just around a decade ago the river bank housing Ambhora used to see a flux of tourists from all over the State.
