A WAVE of fear has gripped investors in Wasankar Wealth Management as Income Tax Department (I-T) has started sending notices to them to furnish source of their income which they put in the ponzi scheme of Wasankar group. Notices have been served to more than 300 investors so far. “Along with the official list of investors with Economic Offences Wing, the I-T officials also identified investors from the documents seized by EoW including private diaries. After completing secret inquiries of yearly returns filed by the investors, the I-T officials found out that many investors had invested black money in the Wasankar Group. WITH a jump of 11 per cent, Nagpur Range Police have recorded 60.58 per cent conviction rate in Indian Penal Code (IPC) cases, an indication of improvement in quality of investigation and argument of cases by prosecution. Nagpur Rural police topped the chart in the range with whopping 77.09 per cent conviction rate with Wardha police (37.75 per cent) running behind Chandrapur (67.23 per cent) and Bhandara (39.48 per cent) districts. Conviction rate is number of cases per hundred in which court has held the accused guilty and awarded punishment. Special Inspector General of Police (IGP), Nagpur Range, Mallikarjuna Prasanna informed ‘The Hitavada’ that conviction rate of the range was 20.17 per cent in 2015, 31.17 per cent in 2016, 46.66 per cent in 2017 and improved to 49.69 per cent in year 2018.  After taking over reins of Nagpur Range, IGP Prasanna focused on improvement in the conviction. A nine-year-old boy was killed when the driver of the school bus he travelled ran him down in Bajeria, near Santra market on Friday evening. The bus driver failed to notice the boy as he got down from the bus and walked in front of the vehicle. Deceased Yash Mishra, a resident of Telipura, Bajeria, was studying in Standard III at Orange City High School, Mohan Nagar. The police have arrested bus driver Prafulla Gajanan Mathure (26), a resident of Jaripatka and seized the bus.  According to police, the accident occurred at 3.30 pm. The bus (MH-40/BN-3620) came from Santra Market side and stopped at Daulat Patel square with 16 students onboard. Yash deboarded the bus and went to the front to walk towards his home. A 12-year-old boy was kidnapped by a man who got the contract from the kid’s aunt. The woman was inspired by a crime show on television, said police. The boy was released by the kidnapper after Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Rural Police tightened noose of accused involved in the crime.  According to police, accused Sarika Dinesh Bhagat (36), a resident of Ward No. 3, Butibori, is aunt of Saniket Rajesh Ingole (12), a resident of Butibori. Sarika hatched the conspiracy of kidnapping and roped in Gangaprasad Mohanlal Yerne (27), a resident of Khapri in the crime. She had promised Rs 50,000/- to Gangaprasad for same.  Sarika and Gangaprasad kidnapped the boy from his school in Butibori on Wednesday. HANGING was the most favourite mode adopted by suicide victims in India as 51.5 per cent victims ended their lives by hanging themselves. More suicide victims are leaning towards this mode as such cases increased by 0.7 per cent in year 2018 as against 49.8 per cent in 2017.  The shocking revelation came to fore in data released by National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) for year 2018. According to statistics, Indians are adopting hanging, poisoning, jumping methods more for suicide which are easily available and effective mode of suicide than painful means such as self-inflicted injuries.  A total of 26.7 per cent persons had committed suicide by consuming poison in year 2018 as against 27.5 per cent in 2017. POVERTY is the major reason for suicides in India as two-third of people who ended their lives in 2018 belonged to the poorest sections of the society with annual income of less than Rs One lakh. The statistics provided by National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) indicate growing suicide tendencies among the poor people. A total of 66.2 per cent (88,986 out of 1,34,516 victims) of suicide victims in year 2018 were having annual income of less than Rs one lakh. Similarly, 29.1 per cent (39080 out of 1,34,516 victims) of suicide victims belong to annual income group of Rs one lakh and above to less than Rs five lakh. Education also played important role in suicide cases as the maximum numbers of suicide victims - 23.6 per cent - (31,757 out of 1,34,516 victims) were educated up to Matriculation/Secondary level. Middle level educated victims accounted 19.5 per cent (26,252 out of 1,34,516) suicides; Primary educated persons accounted for 17.1 per cent (23,048 out of 1,34,516) suicides...
