Major reshuffle expected in Maharashtra Police leadership

The State Home Department in Maharashtra is gearing up for a significant overhaul of its top police leadership, including the position of Director General of Police (DGP) and Police Commissioners of Nagpur and Thane. The impending retirement of the current DGP, Rajnish Seth, on December 31 has prompted the department to commence the process of selecting his successor.A top rank official said that several prominent names have emerged as contenders for the esteemed position of State DGP. The frontrunner is Senior IPS Officer Rashmi Shukla, who currently serves as the Director General (DG) of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar is also a strong candidate for the role. Other notable contenders include Thane CP Jaijeet Singh, DG ATS Sadanand Date, DG Police Housing Sandeep Bishnoi, DG Railway Pradnya Sarvade, Additional Director of NIA Atulchandra Kulkarni, and DG State Security Corporation Bipin Kumar Singh, he said. Five arrested in Yashodhara Nagar murder

Yashodhara Nagar police have arrested five persons in the murder case Samir alias Babu Sheikh Ramjan who was killed by the assailants at a restaurant on Tuesday night. 
According to police, Samir alias Babu Sheikh Ramjan (23), a resident of Indira Mata, was murdered by Vijay Naresh Padole (19), a resident of Yashodhara Nagar; Ajay Chavan (22), a resident of Yadav Nagar;  Aryan alias Gaurav Mohanlal Gupta (20), a resident of Prem Nagar; Ankush Uttam Suryawanshi (21), a resident of Kanji House Chowk; Pradip alias Bunty Yadav Kanpate (19), a residnet of Kanji House Chowk; Mahesh alias Sonu Rajkumar Kusere (25), a resident of Yashodhara Nagar and two others.  
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone V Neelotpal informed that the murder was fall out of rivarly between the accused and the deceased. Samir was accused in murder case reported in year 2017. He had threatened accused Vijay Padole and Ankush Suryawanshi of eliminating them on January 6. Before Samir could attack them, the accused hatched a conspiracy and decided to kill him . 
When he came to Kanji House chowk for some work at 6.35 pm, the rival gang came close to him to attack. Samir ran for life in a lane. The goons with sharp-weapons in hands chased Samir for several distance. When Samir entered R K Saoji restaurant from back door, the accused followed him where they stabbed him in stomach with sharp-weapons. 
A police official said that the goons stabbed Samir more then eight times in the stomach. Leaving Samir in pool of blood, the goons fled the spot. He died on the spot due to heavy blood loss. Staff of Yashodhara Nagar police station rushed to the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. 
A large number of onlookers were gathered at the spot after the crime. The police have registered the case under Section 302 of Indian Penal Code and arrested the accused.

Wathoda murder : Cops discover ‘love’ angle 

In Wathoda murder case, the cops are suspecting ‘love’ angle behind the murder of the youth. The youth was found dead in Wathoda area with his head smashed by a boulder on Tuesday night. According to police, a passersby discovered the body lying on the roadside with injuries on the head. He alerted the police about the incident. Staff of Wathoda police station rushed to the spot and performed panchanama (collection of evidence from crime scene). The body was sent to GMCH for post-mortem. 
The deceased was identified as Himanshu Manohar Denge (22), a resident of Plot No. 37, Anmol Nagar. Investigation revealed that one Vishal had killed Himanshu by smashing his head with a boulder over Vishal’s affair with a girl. Wathoda police have sent a team to Balaghat in Madhya Pradesh to arrest the accused where he is reportedly hiding. An offence under Section 302 of Indian Penal Code was registered at Wathoda police station.

CONSTRUCTION work of 700-metre-long cable-stayed bridge, longest in the country, with a viewing gallery at the top at Ambhora in Kuhi tehsil is near completion. DCP (crime) Sunil Kolhe By Dheeraj Fartode About 28 State Police Service (SPS) officers were granted  Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre on Monday. At Nagpur, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (Crime) Sunil Kolhe is among these officers. With their promotion, Maharashtra Government will fill-up the existing vacancies of cadre posts across the State. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government of India, approved the promotion and Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), issued the notification of 28 state police officers into IPS cadre.  Maharashtra Government had earlier empanelled the 28 officers for promotion of SPS officers into IPS and criteria was they should have served for atleast eight years as Superintendent of Police (SP) or Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).
