Shocker : Push to reopen Dabo Club after Christmas Night double murder

Dabo club Nagpur Efforts to reopen the controversial Dabo Club, which was shut down for 45 days following the murder of two young men, have triggered strong anger and fear among the families of the victims. The incident took place in the early hours of December 26 last year during a Christmas party at Dabo Club. Pranav Ranavare (27) was allegedly killed after a minor dispute. His friend, Gaurav Karda (34), was badly injured in the same incident and later died during treatment.  The Sonegaon police arrested six accused - Soumya Deshmukh, Mehul alias Monu Rahate, Rajiv Chawla, Abhay Jhamtani, Gappu Sharma and Tushar Nankani. All the accused are currently lodged in jail. The club is owned by Directors Devyani Vijay Wadettiwar, Karan Vikram Thakkar and Mohd Hamza Rayeen. Crime Branch arrest two Angadias from Mumbai in bizman extortion case

Crime Branch have arrested two Angadias from Mumbai for their alleged involvement in fraud and extortion case in which gangster Santosh Ambekar has been arrested by City Police as prime accused.  The accused have been identified as Ajay Patel, a resident of Malad, Mumbai and Suraj Patel, a resident of Ankleshwar, Gujrat. The team of Crime Branch is expected to reach Nagpur with the accused on Wednesday. The arrest was made under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Nilesh Bharne.  An offence under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471, 384, 386, 506 (b) and 34 of Indian Penal Code was registered against Ambekar and five others on Saturday for duping a businessman of Rs five crore in a property deal and also issuing threats to him for extortion of Rs one crore. Auto driver killed while avoiding stray dog

Date 15-10-19 An Auto-rickshaw driver was killed in road accident while trying to avoid a stray dog in Yashodhara Nagar area.  Just then when they neared the petrol pump, a stray came in the middle of the road.  A 72-year-old autorickshaw driver died on Monday from injuries sustained in a road accident that took place while he trying to avoid running over a stray dog in Yashoda Nagar area of Maharashtra's Nagpur, police said.  According to police, the Auto-rickshaw (MH-49/AR-4079) driver - Bhagwandas Govardhansingh Verma (72) - was heading towards Mohd Ali Petrol Pump from Naglok after attending a wedding when the accident occurred on Saturday at 8.30 pm.    The accident happened on Saturday night when driver Bhagwandas Verma was heading towards a petrol pump, an official said.  "A dog came in his way and he tried to swerve and the vehicle overturned in the process. Gang robs bizman of Rs 8.5 lakh at Umred

Date 15-10-19 A gang of four robbers robbed a businessman with sharp weapons and robbed him of Rs 8.5 lakh cash when he was going to deposit the money in the bank at Umred town in the district on Monday afternoon. The incident sent shock-waves across the town as the residents have demanded immediate arrest of the robbers.  According to police, Nikesh Mahesh Tolani (29) is a distributor of Hindustan Liver Ltd and supplies the products to grocery shops in the district. More than 30 employees are working in his firm who were supplying the goods to grocery shops and collecting money. The robbers were knowing that Tolani was depositing the cash in Union Bank of India’s branch everyday. They hatched the conspiracy accordingly to rob him. On Monday at 11.30 am, Tolani came to the bank on a moped with two bags containing Rs 8,53,000/-. When he was walking towards the bank, two robbers came behind and caught hold him. Three commits suicide in separate incidents

Date - 14-10-19 Three persons committed suicide in separate incidents under the jurisdictions of Gittikhadan, Hingna and Hudkeshwar police station areas.  In the first case, a 49-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan. According to Gittikhadan police, Santosh Bhojraj Chute (49), a resident of 576 (a), Ganga Nagar, hanged himself from ceiling fan with odni on Monday morning and ended his life. Gittikhadan police have registered a case of accidental death.  In another case, a 42-year-old woman committed suicide by jumping into a well in Hingna area. The deceased has been identified as Ashadevi Shrikant Ram (42), a resident of Indrayani Paper company, Jamtha. According to police, the incident took place in the wee hours of Saturday. Five days police custody to Ambekar

Date - 13-10-19 Gangster Santosh Ambekar arrested on the charges of fraud of Rs five crore and extortion on Saturday was produced in the court on Sunday, following which he was remanded to five-days police custody.  Ambekar was produced in the court in afternoon hours. As the police jeep developed snag near Akashwani square, he was taken to the court on foot. A video clip of police producing him in the court went viral in social media on Sunday.  The police told the court that they need Ambekar’s custody for arrest of remaining accused involved in the crime and recovery of the cash. ATM with Rs 16 lakh cash stolen from Katol

Date - 13-10-19 A Bank of Maharashtra’s ATM carrying Rs 16 lakh was stolen from Katol on Sunday. The thieves also decamped with Digital Video Recorder (DVR) and CCTV from ATM kiosk. Katol police have registered a case under Section 457 and 380 of Indian Penal Code (IPC).  According to police, a citizen reported to the police that the ATM was stolen from the kiosk. The ATM system was disconnected from bank’s server at 2 am. It was having Rs 15,99,700/- cash, said Police Inspector (Local Crime Branch) Anil Jittawar.  Superintendent of Police (SP) Rakesh Ola visited the spot in the morning and launched probe.  The theft occurred at 2 am. The accused have used a Mahindra Pick up jeep to carry the ATM machine. “They transported the machine towards Jalalkheda where the vehicle was captured in a CCTV footage,” said a police officer.   SP Ola informed that Rs 23 lakh were filled in the ATM on Friday. Gangster Ambekar arrested for duping businessman of Rs 5 crore

Notorious goon Santosh Ambekar was arrested by Crime Branch on Saturday night for allegedly duping three businessmen of Rs five crore and issuing death threats to them for extortion of Rs one crore.  The complaint was lodged by Jigar Pareshbhai Patel, a resident of Kapadvanj, District - Kheda, Gujarat at Sitabuldi police station. According to police, accused Ambekar, Bhaiyyaji, Ramesh Patil, Balaji Angadia, Salim and others had hatched a conspiracy to dupe Patel, Anil Kadam and Vinod Pawar in a land deal. They had forged documents of a commercial property located in Mumbai and shown the property to Patel. Patel, Pawar and Kadam had fixed the land deal with Ambekar and given Rs five crore to him on July 5, 2018.
