With an aim to rigorously implement special drive against errant riders, City Traffic Police has adopted a new mechanism of swapping police personnel among its eight zones. The idea is to increase effectiveness of concentrated action and special drives and instill discipline among rule violators. A police officer said that lower rung cops used to develop friendly relations with locals including autorickshaw drivers due to working in one particular area for longer period. Such repeat offenders used have ‘connections’ within police rank and politicians. These persons are nuisance for the police staff as they always call their bosses whenever one tried to penalise them for violation of rules. A married woman eloped with her boyfriend as her husband was left watching in disbelief at Ganeshpeth Bus Terminus on Sunday. The hapless husband then went rushing to police station and sought help. The police have booked accused Amol Dongre (25), a resident of Indira Nagar, Ajni for abduction.  According to police, Shivram Santaram Rajak (25), a resident of Sundara village of Rajnandgaon (Chhattisgarh) married with Indira Nagar resident 21-year-old girl on April 24. Shivram and his wife were staying at the house of in-laws from May 14. The couple arrived at Nagpur Railway Station to catch a train on Saturday morning.  When the couple was waiting for a train at Platform No. 2, Amol arrived at the scene and started chatting with the woman. A retired soldier of Indian Army was murdered by five persons including another retired Army soldier over land dispute at Bori Ghiwari village in Aroli Police Station area. Decomposed body of Bhaurao Meshram (46), a resident of Jhingabai Takali, Nagpur was found in a farm at Bori Ghiwari village where government had given him agriculture land. DCP Zone V Harssh Poddar  adressing a press conference.  Yashodhara Nagar police have arrested a goon for filming a video on ‘Tik Tok’ app in a police van and also making it viral on the social media including WhatsApp. The accused Mobin Ahmed Samsuddin Ahmed (30) is a leader of Chama gang involved in cattle smuggling. Adresssing a press conferece, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone V Harssh Poddar said that Ahmed, a resident of Tipu Sultan Chowk, Yashodhara Nagar, had filmed the video on February 4, 2019 and posted on the social media. Ahmed can be seen stepping out of a police van as the song ‘Miya Bhai’, a popular track among Indian Tik Tokers, played in the background. After the first shot, the video cuts to shots of the police station. It ends with Ahmed finally stepping out of sedan car. This is the car which knocks three motorcycles on late Friday night. Passersby at Laxmi Nagar chowk on late Friday night witnessed horror when a drunken man lost control over the wheel of his speeding car and knocked down three motorcycles leaving four persons injured seriously. Later, the car rammed into a road divider, injuring the driver also very seriously.  The Maruti Swift car (MH-31/DV-7856) first rammed into a motorcycle with two-riders in front of Hotel Ashoka on Laxmi Nagar Main Road (West High Court Road) and later knocked down two different bikes at Laxmi Nagar Square before crashing into a road divider at great speed.
