Dabo club Nagpur Efforts to reopen the controversial Dabo Club, which was shut down for 45 days following the murder of two young men, have triggered strong anger and fear among the families of the victims. The incident took place in the early hours of December 26 last year during a Christmas party at Dabo Club. Pranav Ranavare (27) was allegedly killed after a minor dispute. His friend, Gaurav Karda (34), was badly injured in the same incident and later died during treatment. The Sonegaon police arrested six accused - Soumya Deshmukh, Mehul alias Monu Rahate, Rajiv Chawla, Abhay Jhamtani, Gappu Sharma and Tushar Nankani. All the accused are currently lodged in jail. The club is owned by Directors Devyani Vijay Wadettiwar, Karan Vikram Thakkar and Mohd Hamza Rayeen. Yashodhara Nagar police have arrested a goon for filming a video on ‘Tik Tok’ app in a police van and also making it viral on the social media including WhatsApp. The accused Mobin Ahmed Samsuddin Ahmed (30) is a leader of Chama gang involved in cattle smuggling.
Adresssing a press conferece, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone V Harssh Poddar said that Ahmed, a resident of Tipu Sultan Chowk, Yashodhara Nagar, had filmed the video on February 4, 2019 and posted on the social media. Ahmed can be seen stepping out of a police van as the song ‘Miya Bhai’, a popular track among Indian Tik Tokers, played in the background. After the first shot, the video cuts to shots of the police station. It ends with Ahmed finally stepping out of sedan car. The video was shared on Facebook by BFilmy Galli and has since been going viral. His accomplices had also forwarded forwards the video on various social media platforms including WhatsApp at Nagpur.
When the video came to the notice of City Police, the cops carried out investigation and found out that it was filmed near Koradi Police Station. The police have registered a case under Sections 447 of Indian Penal Code and launched hunt for Ahmed. He surrended before the police on Wednesday. DCP Poddar said that Ahmed was first booked by the police in year 2003. Ahmed and his accomplices are running cattle smuggling gang. He was externed by the police in year 2012 and also booked under MPDA, the DCP said. He would be handed-over to Yavatmal Police soon as he was absconding in two attempt to murder cases.
