The state police have started using Crime-OS, a powerful Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool developed under the MARVEL project (Maharashtra Research and Vigilance for Enhanced Law Enforcement). This tool, built in partnership with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur, works like the co-pilot feature in Microsoft Office - but to solve crimes. It helps police save valuable time and reduces the heavy workload of investigations. A Covid-19 positive woman committed sucide by jumping off the fifth floor of AIIMS Nagpur on Thursday night, police officials said. The deceased was identified as Renuka Ramesh Aldhare (45), a resident of Takalghat Colony No. 2, Hingna. According to police, the woman was admitted in Covid ward on the fifth floor of the hospital on May 3. Due to the severe effect of Covid on her mental health, she was talking to herself. She jumped off from the fifth floor at 7.45 pm and ended her life. A police official said that the woman was observing fast when she attracted the virus. A case of accidental death was registered by Sonegaon police. Further investigation is on.
