IGP Chandra Kishore Mina By Dheeraj Fartode Chandra Kishore Mina, an IPS officer of the 2006 batch, has been awarded the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service. Currently serving as Special Inspector General of Police (IGP) for the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Mina has held several important positions in Nagpur and the Vidarbha region. While serving as ASP in Gadchiroli, Mina led a successful anti-Naxal operation in 2009, which resulted in the Petha encounter, weakening the Naxal movement. This operation earned him the DG Insignia. As SP in Akola and Nanded, Mina used innovative methods to maintain communal harmony and resolve tensions effectively. He uncovered a state-wide kidney transplant racket in Akola and, as DCP in Nagpur, dismantled organized crime syndicates through MCOCA and MPDA cases. Youth murdered at Uday Nagar chowk

A youth was hacked to death by three criminals at Uday Nagar Chowk in Hudkeshwar police station area on late Sunday night. 
The accused is identified as Prasad Dashrath Rokde (25), a resident of Dube Nagar and two others while deceased is - Jitendra Vasudeo Bade (29), a resident of Plot No. 366, Sanjay Gandhi Nagar. 
According to police, the incident was fall out sudden altercation between the accused and the deceased and his friends. Jitendra and his friends Ritik Denge (20) and Abhijeet Kharat were conversing at Uday Nagar chowk at 12.10 am. The accused came at the spot and picked a quarrel with Jitendra over some issue and stabbed him with a sharp weapon on chest and elbow. Jitendra collapsed on the ground in the pool of blood. He was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to the injuries. Ritik and Abhieet were also injured in the attack. Hudkehswar police have registered the case under Sections 302, 323 and 34 of Indian Penal Code. Hudkeshwar police have arrested the accused. However there are rumours on the social media about the murder that the youth was murdered for tearing a poster of political leader. Hudkeshwar PI Sandip Bhosle denied the information.

Longest cable-stayed bridge to boost tourism at Ambhora

CONSTRUCTION work of 700-metre-long cable-stayed bridge, longest in the country, with a viewing gallery at the top at Ambhora in Kuhi tehsil is near completion. The bridge would be open for traffic in December this year providing a major boost to tourism at Shree Chaitanyeshwar Mahadev temple at Ambhora. It is set to open doors of development for the backward area of Kuhi and Umred tehsil. Ambhora, located 75 km from Nagpur city, is a famous religious and tourist place in Vidarbha.
