IGP Chandra Kishore Mina By Dheeraj Fartode Chandra Kishore Mina, an IPS officer of the 2006 batch, has been awarded the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service. Currently serving as Special Inspector General of Police (IGP) for the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Mina has held several important positions in Nagpur and the Vidarbha region. A human skeleton was found in a well located in Pension Nagar under the jurisdiction of Gittikhadan police station area on Tuesday night. According to police, the skeleton was found by NMC employees when they were cleaning the well with the help of water pump. They found the skeletal remains, and alerted the police.
Police said that the deceased person is suspected to be aged between 30 and 35 years. The remains have been collected and sent for the post-mortem examination to the hospital. A DNA test will be performed to the remains and police teams are on the job to identify the deceased and also checking missing persons. Gittikhadan police is investigating the case.
MahaGenco Engineer jumps to death in Khaparkheda
A junior engineer with Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (MahaGenco) committed suicide by jumping from the top of three-storey government quarter in Khaparkheda.
The deceased has been identified as Shubham Rameshkumar Sablok (36), a resident of Quarter No. D/25/1, Vidyut Vihar Colony, Khaparkheda. According to police, the incident occurred at 3 pm. Shubham was undergoing treatment for psychological issues. He latched the door of the quarter from the outside as his parents were present in the house. He then went at terrace and jumped in the backside of the building.
After realising Shubham was missing from the house and door was latched from outside, the family members raised an alarm. Neighbourers opened the door and launched searches for Shubham. The suicide came to fore at around 5 pm when a youth noticed the body lying in the pool of blood. Staff of Khaparkheda police station rushed to the spot and sent the body for autopsy. A case of accidental death was registered at the police station.
