Major reshuffle expected in Maharashtra Police leadership

The State Home Department in Maharashtra is gearing up for a significant overhaul of its top police leadership, including the position of Director General of Police (DGP) and Police Commissioners of Nagpur and Thane. The impending retirement of the current DGP, Rajnish Seth, on December 31 has prompted the department to commence the process of selecting his successor.A top rank official said that several prominent names have emerged as contenders for the esteemed position of State DGP. The frontrunner is Senior IPS Officer Rashmi Shukla, who currently serves as the Director General (DG) of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar is also a strong candidate for the role. Other notable contenders include Thane CP Jaijeet Singh, DG ATS Sadanand Date, DG Police Housing Sandeep Bishnoi, DG Railway Pradnya Sarvade, Additional Director of NIA Atulchandra Kulkarni, and DG State Security Corporation Bipin Kumar Singh, he said. Nitin Gadkari declared assests worth Rs 24.12 crore

Union Minister and BJP’s candidate for Nagpur Lok Sabha seat Nitin Gadkari declared his assets including 29 acres of agriculture land at Dhapewada, ancestral house at Mahal, a flat at MLA society in Worli (Mumbai) and jewellery worth over Rs 53 lakh. Collective value of Nitin Gadakri’s movable and immovable assets, as per the affidavit, is Rs 25,12,35,649. 
According to affidavit submitted along with his nomination papers here today, Gadkari revealed movable assets worth Rs 69,38,691 in his name, Rs 91,99,160 in his wife’s name and Rs 66,07,924 in Hindu Undivided Family (HUF). While immovable assets worth Rs 6,95,98,325 are registered in the names of Nitin Gadkari, while assets worth Rs 6,48,60,325 are registered in the name of his wife Kanchan and those worth Rs 9,40,31,224 are registered in the name of HUF. The HUF is taxed separately from its members.
A total 15 acres of agriculture land is registered in the name of Kanchan Gadkari at Gadkari’s native village Dhapewada another 14.60 acres of land is owned by HUF at Dhapewada. 
Nitin Gadkari has jewellery worth Rs 53,61,630, while Hindu Undivided Family (HUF) owns yellow metal worth Rs 21,21,660. His wife Kanchan owns ornaments worth Rs 10,57,350.  Gadkari’s total investments in Saving Scheme, mutual funds, bonds and shares stood at Rs 3,55,510. The collective investment value made by his wife is worth Rs 10,12,887. He is maintaining a balance of Rs 8,99,111 in accounts in 11 different banks. His wife is also having Rs 11,07,909 in 10 different bank accounts. 
He has opened a separate bank account for electoral purpose with balance of Rs 1,01,000 in Nagpur Nagarik Sahkari Bank, Mahal. Gadkari has invested Rs 11,86,500 and his wife has invested Rs 18,40,000 in business. 
As per the affidavit, Gadkari has taken a loan of Rs 1,57,21,753 from various banks including Rs one crore from Housing Development and Infrastructure Limited as personal loan. He has a fleet of six vehicles worth Rs 20,10,000 in his name while worth Rs 26,66,609 in wife’s name, the affidavit disclosed. Two cars including a Ambassador of the year 1994 make and a Honda car are registered in the name of Nitin Gadakri while four cars are registered in the name of his wife. Three criminal cases, mostly political in nature, are registered in his name.

Longest cable-stayed bridge to boost tourism at Ambhora

CONSTRUCTION work of 700-metre-long cable-stayed bridge, longest in the country, with a viewing gallery at the top at Ambhora in Kuhi tehsil is near completion. DCP (crime) Sunil Kolhe By Dheeraj Fartode About 28 State Police Service (SPS) officers were granted  Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre on Monday. At Nagpur, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (Crime) Sunil Kolhe is among these officers. With their promotion, Maharashtra Government will fill-up the existing vacancies of cadre posts across the State.
