His hands shook slightly, not out of fear, but out of hope. “I’m trying to find my daughter Aarti’s gold earrings,” he said quietly, still focused on the box. “She’s just five. I got them made recently after months of labour work.” The plastic box, warped and blackened by heat, was one of the few things left from his two-room house on the outskirts of Dhamangaon village . Another case of tricksters duping bank customer in bank premises reported in city. This time the bank is Bank of India’s (BOI) Wardhaman Nagar branch in Lakadganj area and the tricksters duped the bank customer to the tune of Rs 18,000. The police said, victim Rohandas Ajitdas Banpela (20), a resident of Plot No 213, Jaidurga Nagar, Pardi had gone to the bank to credit Rs 18,000 cash. The tricksters approached Rohandas and befriended with him. During interaction, the accused showed a packet and told him that the packet containing cash worth lakhs of rupees.
The accused had given the packet to Rohandas and took Rs 18,000 from him and fled the spot. When Rohandas opened the packet, he finds only papers in the packet. He informed the police about the incident and lodged a complaint. The police have registered the case under Sections 406 and 506 of IPC. The cops have recovered CCTV footage of the bank and nearby area. It may be mentioned that the a youth was duped by the two tricksters in Ganeshpeth area by using same modus operendi.
