Dabo club Nagpur Efforts to reopen the controversial Dabo Club, which was shut down for 45 days following the murder of two young men, have triggered strong anger and fear among the families of the victims. The incident took place in the early hours of December 26 last year during a Christmas party at Dabo Club. Pranav Ranavare (27) was allegedly killed after a minor dispute. His friend, Gaurav Karda (34), was badly injured in the same incident and later died during treatment. The Sonegaon police arrested six accused - Soumya Deshmukh, Mehul alias Monu Rahate, Rajiv Chawla, Abhay Jhamtani, Gappu Sharma and Tushar Nankani. All the accused are currently lodged in jail. The club is owned by Directors Devyani Vijay Wadettiwar, Karan Vikram Thakkar and Mohd Hamza Rayeen. Two bike-borne robbers robbed a Petrol Pump manager of cash worth Rs 4.60 lakh near Kapsi over-bridge on Friday night. The incident reported under Kalamna Police Station area. The accused attacked the manager and also snatched his motorcycle and mobile phone so that he could not inform anyone about the robbery immediately. The cops have launched hunt for the accused but not yet made any headway.
Victim Ratnakar Yadavrao Jhumale (37), a resident of Asuli village, Kamptee was a manager at a Petrol Pump on Kalamna-Kamptee road. He had kept the cash in a bag on Friday at 8.30 pm and embarked on a motorcycle to deposit the cash to the Pump owner. Two intercepted Jhumale near Kapsi Over-bridge and pushed the motorcycle cruising at speed of 60 km/hour. Jhumale lost control on the bike and fell on the road. The robbers caught hold Jhumale and thrashed him mercilessly and threatened him. The robbers took possession of Jhumale’s mobile phone, motorcycle and the bag containing cash and sped away from the spot.
Helpless Jhumale got a lift from a biker and reached the police station and narrated the incident. Staff of Kalamna Police Station rushed to the spot and started investigation in the matter. The police have registered the case under Sections 394 and 34 of Indian Penal Code.
