Dabo club Nagpur Efforts to reopen the controversial Dabo Club, which was shut down for 45 days following the murder of two young men, have triggered strong anger and fear among the families of the victims. The incident took place in the early hours of December 26 last year during a Christmas party at Dabo Club. Pranav Ranavare (27) was allegedly killed after a minor dispute. His friend, Gaurav Karda (34), was badly injured in the same incident and later died during treatment. The Sonegaon police arrested six accused - Soumya Deshmukh, Mehul alias Monu Rahate, Rajiv Chawla, Abhay Jhamtani, Gappu Sharma and Tushar Nankani. All the accused are currently lodged in jail. The club is owned by Directors Devyani Vijay Wadettiwar, Karan Vikram Thakkar and Mohd Hamza Rayeen. Kalamna Police arrested a motorcycle lifter and recovered 13 stolen motorcycles from his possession. The thief had stolen the motorcycles from Kalamna, Lakadganj, Pachpaoli and Nandanvan Police Station areas. The accused was stealing the bikes after making duplicate key of the motorcycle.
The accused has been identified as Ganesh Diwakar Lende (19), a resident of Pardi, Mahajanpur, Kalamna. Acting on tip-off, the police arrested the accused from Chikali Chowk and recovered a motorcycle. As Lende was not possessing documents of the motorbike, the cops took him to police station for interrogation. During police interrogation, Lende spilled the beans and confessed for 13 mobike thefts committed with a juvenile offender. The accused have stolen four motorcycles from Kalamna, two from Nandanvan, two from Lakadgan and one from Pachpaoli Police Station area.
Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone V Krishnakant Upadhyay, the arrest was made by Sr. PI Kalamna Mahesh Chate, APIs Arvind Pawar, Sanjay Dube and staff including Dashrath Mishra, Surendra Chaurpagar, Prashant Savaithul, Dinesh Yadav, Dinesh Lanjewar, Vijay Yadav and Raju Jadhav.
