Chandra Kishore Mina Awarded President’s Police Medal

IGP Chandra Kishore Mina By Dheeraj Fartode Chandra Kishore Mina, an IPS officer of the 2006 batch, has been awarded the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service. Currently serving as Special Inspector General of Police (IGP) for the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Mina has held several important positions in Nagpur and the Vidarbha region. While serving as ASP in Gadchiroli, Mina led a successful anti-Naxal operation in 2009, which resulted in the Petha encounter, weakening the Naxal movement. This operation earned him the DG Insignia. As SP in Akola and Nanded, Mina used innovative methods to maintain communal harmony and resolve tensions effectively. He uncovered a state-wide kidney transplant racket in Akola and, as DCP in Nagpur, dismantled organized crime syndicates through MCOCA and MPDA cases. Kalamna Police arrest a bike lifter, recovers 13 stolen motorcycles

Kalamna Police arrested a motorcycle lifter and recovered 13 stolen motorcycles from his possession. The thief had stolen the motorcycles from Kalamna, Lakadganj, Pachpaoli and Nandanvan Police Station areas. The accused was stealing the bikes after making duplicate key of the motorcycle. 

The accused has been identified as Ganesh Diwakar Lende (19), a resident of Pardi, Mahajanpur, Kalamna. Acting on tip-off, the police arrested the accused from Chikali Chowk and recovered a motorcycle. As Lende was not possessing documents of the motorbike, the cops took him to police station for interrogation. During police interrogation, Lende spilled the beans and confessed for 13 mobike thefts committed with a juvenile offender. The accused have stolen four motorcycles from Kalamna, two from Nandanvan, two from Lakadgan and one from Pachpaoli Police Station area.

Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone V Krishnakant Upadhyay, the arrest was made by Sr. PI Kalamna Mahesh Chate, APIs Arvind Pawar, Sanjay Dube and staff including Dashrath Mishra, Surendra Chaurpagar, Prashant Savaithul, Dinesh Yadav, Dinesh Lanjewar, Vijay Yadav and Raju Jadhav.

Longest cable-stayed bridge to boost tourism at Ambhora

CONSTRUCTION work of 700-metre-long cable-stayed bridge, longest in the country, with a viewing gallery at the top at Ambhora in Kuhi tehsil is near completion. The bridge would be open for traffic in December this year providing a major boost to tourism at Shree Chaitanyeshwar Mahadev temple at Ambhora. It is set to open doors of development for the backward area of Kuhi and Umred tehsil. Ambhora, located 75 km from Nagpur city, is a famous religious and tourist place in Vidarbha.
