DCP Zone IV Ishu Sindhu joined in August, taking over reins from DCP Chandra Kishore Mina. The cops stuck to basic policing in a bid to tackle the rising crime graph, a trend common in Urban areas. The Zone recorded 31 cases of murder in year 2012, and in 2013 there were 29 cases while detection was of 28 cases. The Zone have also observed declining trend in attempt to murder cases i.e. 35 in year 2013 to 27 in year 2014.
When one went into reason it was learnt that maximum preventive actions were taken by DCP Mina and later carried on by Sindhu in the Zone. The Zone invoked MCOCA in one cases, detention of five under MPDA and 26 externment against goons. This had the desired effect and immediately reflected in crime graph.
Only one dacoity occurred in the Zone in a year. DCP Mina was known for his thrust on keeping-up pressure on force and sticking to time tested styles in tackling criminals.

In Zone IV, Nandanvan police recorded eight murders, followed by seven in Hudkeshwar, five in Ajni, four each in Imambada and Sakkardara and one in Dhantoli police stations. The murder under Dhantoli police station remains undetected.
Ajni, Hudkeshwar and Nandanvan police stations have reported 79, 74 and 75 HBTs in year 2014 respectively. The same police stations had reported 68, 119 and 56 HBTs in year 2013. After studying the pattern of crime in the Zone, DCP Sindhu have introduced a new pro-active style of policing. He has assigned a criminal to a policemen and this continuous man to man tracking has provided good results.
