IGP Chandra Kishore Mina By Dheeraj Fartode Chandra Kishore Mina, an IPS officer of the 2006 batch, has been awarded the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service. Currently serving as Special Inspector General of Police (IGP) for the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Mina has held several important positions in Nagpur and the Vidarbha region. While serving as ASP in Gadchiroli, Mina led a successful anti-Naxal operation in 2009, which resulted in the Petha encounter, weakening the Naxal movement. This operation earned him the DG Insignia. As SP in Akola and Nanded, Mina used innovative methods to maintain communal harmony and resolve tensions effectively. Property dealer murdered at Ajni as builder gobbles up money

A property dealer was murdered by his business partner over money matter at Hawrapeth area under the jurisdiction of Ajni police station on Sunday. 
According to information, accused Satyendra Narmadaprasad Sinha (43), a resident of plot no 66, Hawrapeth, smashed head of Ashok alias Govinda Somaji Sonawane (40), a resident of Ajni area with a jack (vehicle lifting instrument). An argument over sharing the profits of business went out of control and Sinha bludgeoned his partner who he had invited for discussion.
Ajni police have arrested the accused before the accused could flee from the city. Police Inspector B P Salunke of Ajni police station informed that Satyendra, Ashok and Baba Bhagat were partners in the property business. Baba have a three acres land at Hudkeshwar area. Baba decided to develop a layout. However he lacked NoC from the authorities. There was deal between Satyendra and Baba about the documents and Ashok had arranged the deal. Baba had given Rs 16 lakh to Satyendra for getting the NoC Ashok was also involved in the deal.
However Satyendra was failed to get clearances from Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) which created tension among the trio and strained their relations. PI Salunke also claimed that Baba had been pressurising Ashok to get back his money and hence he was calling Satyendra regularly. 
On Sunday, Satyendra called up Ashok and asked him to come at his house for taking the money. Ashok reached the house in morning hours itself. According to information, a brawl broken out between the two and which turned into a scuffle. Meanwhile, Ashok smashed head of Ashok with the jack. Ashok fell on the ground in pool of blood and died on the spot. Ajni police have registered the case under section 302 of Indian Penal Code. Further investigations are on.

Longest cable-stayed bridge to boost tourism at Ambhora

CONSTRUCTION work of 700-metre-long cable-stayed bridge, longest in the country, with a viewing gallery at the top at Ambhora in Kuhi tehsil is near completion.
