It write official letters, scan bank data and spot suspicious transactions. It sounds like science fiction - but it’s now reality in Maharashtra. The state police have started using Crime-OS, a powerful Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool developed under the MARVEL project (Maharashtra Research and Vigilance for Enhanced Law Enforcement). This tool, built in partnership with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur, works like the co-pilot feature in Microsoft Office - but to solve crimes. It helps police save valuable time and reduces the heavy workload of investigations. 12214 Sarai Rohilla-Yashvantpur Duranto Express on Tuesday detained at Nagpur station for around one hour after problem was noticed in coupling of the train.
A senior railway officer said that some ballast was bump to the train near Godhni station and train was stopped at spot as safety concern. Loco pilot informed to operating control about problem and moved the train at Nagpur station after noticing problems in coupling. The train arrived at 5 pm. Staff of mechanical department repaired the problem. It took one hour. The train moved ahead at 6.15 pm.
