By Dheeraj Fartode The Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court has taken strong note of serious deficiencies on the Nagpur–Katol–Kalmeshwar road after a detailed inspection by a three-member committee. Based on the committee’s findings, the court on Tuesday issued a show-cause notice to the project director of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and asked for a reply by January 6. The matter was heard by Justices Anil Kilor and Rajnish Vyas. Earlier, the court had ordered a site inspection to verify whether the development work on the Nagpur-Katol road was completed as claimed by NHAI and to assess how much work was still pending. Accordingly, a committee comprising Advocates Ashwin Deshpande, Prasad Bawankule, Aradhya Pandey, along with NHAI’s lawyer Adv Anish Kathane, conducted the inspection on Saturday and submitted its report on Monday. MLA Parwe while addressing a newsperson said that as pert agriculture price commission’s report Rs 2345 is the expenditure of one quintal paddy. Despite of that agriculture ministry had declared only Rs 1250 minimum support price (MSP) for paddy that is not enough for farmers. State government has not done rehabilitation of Gosekhurd project affected people (PAP) hence, water storage not started after expending huge sum of Rs 14,000 crore on the project, Parwe said.
