Major reshuffle expected in Maharashtra Police leadership

The State Home Department in Maharashtra is gearing up for a significant overhaul of its top police leadership, including the position of Director General of Police (DGP) and Police Commissioners of Nagpur and Thane. The impending retirement of the current DGP, Rajnish Seth, on December 31 has prompted the department to commence the process of selecting his successor.A top rank official said that several prominent names have emerged as contenders for the esteemed position of State DGP. The frontrunner is Senior IPS Officer Rashmi Shukla, who currently serves as the Director General (DG) of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar is also a strong candidate for the role. Other notable contenders include Thane CP Jaijeet Singh, DG ATS Sadanand Date, DG Police Housing Sandeep Bishnoi, DG Railway Pradnya Sarvade, Additional Director of NIA Atulchandra Kulkarni, and DG State Security Corporation Bipin Kumar Singh, he said. Provide proper parking, stoppage to public transport

Traffic Control Branch and Regional Transport Office (RTO) on Friday conducted a meeting of traffic advisory committee at Swagat lawns. Stakeholders including members of transport and autorikshaw organisations, NGOs working for creating awareness, vigilant citizens and students attended the meeting and submitted their views to streamline traffic on city roads.  Issues like proper stoppage for Star buses, private buses, autorikshaws were discussed and many citizens appealed the authorities to provide designated places for stoppage. Why NDTV banned ? -- Explained --

Why Govt banned only NDTV for Pathankot telecast? It looks like simple decision of BJP government to ban transmission and re-transmission of NDTV for a day for disclosing sensitive information during Pathankot terror attack. But it is not simple as it looks like.  One and only aim of the government is to teach a lesson to all those who are uttering words against government. If not, then why ministry of Information and broadcast have punished only NDTV. Fake policemen rob elderly lady

By Dheeraj Fartode Posing as policemen, four tricksters duped an elderly woman of her gold ornaments worth Rs 60,000 at Ram Nagar square on Monday by dishing out a lie that robbers had murdered and looted an aged woman in the area. According to police, 68-year-old Sukanya Hari Rao, a resident of Plot No. 53, Flat No. 8, Makarand Apartment, Hill Road, Gokulpeth, was walking towards home from a lane. Two men in civil dress approached her and said “did you know that a woman -- Laxmi -- was murdered in the area by robbers for gold ornaments. It was published in newspaper.” Apparently the lady disbelieved them, but to make their story more reliable, the men stopped a youth (probably part of their drama), who was walking behind them. India's GST will have -- 5%, 12%, 18% and 28% tax structures

GST High power GST council of India on Thursday announced a 4-tier GST tax structure of 5%, 12%, 18% and 28%, with lower rates for essential items and the highest for luxury and de-merits goods that would also attract an additional cess.  A member of GST council said that the slaps have been decided to keep inflation under check. The council decided to keep essential commodies in zero rate slab.  Finance minister Arun Jaitley said about Rs 50,000 crore would be needed to compensate states for loss of revenue from rollout of GST, which is to subsume a host of central and state taxes like excise duty, service tax and VAT, in the first year.  However, economic experts have different view on the Jaitley’s comment. “There would be more than 1 lakh crore revenue losses for states after implementation of GST,” said Shobha Prasad, a financial expert. Marathi Song 'Baba' -- a heart winning piece by Priyanka Chopra

Wathc Baba full video Actress Priyanka Chopra has released a promotional song, ' Baba ', that she has sung for her maiden Marathi production  Ventilator  starring Ashutosh Gowariker. 'Baba' is not her first foray into regional language. She lent her vocals to a Tamil song, ' Ullathai Killathe ', from the 2002 film  Thamizhan . After 14 years, she has once again turned to regional music, this time Marathi. The song is penned by Manoj Yadav who beautifully describes a daughter’s longing for her father and incorporates a fine blend of helplessness and emotional strength into his words. Rohan Rohan backs the lyrics with music that is easy on the ear. He uses musical instruments like guitars, flute and violin which leave a lasting impression once you are long done listening to the song.
