A man set himself afire along with wife and son in a moving car on Tuesday afternoon, reportedly due to  financial crisis. While the man was charred to death, his wife and son sustained serious burns in the familicide pact.  The incident took place near Khapri Punarvasan area under jurisdiction of Beltarodi police station area, said the officials who attended the spot. The deceased was identified as Ramraj Gopalkrishna Bhat (58), a resident of Jaitala. His wife Sangita (55) and son Nandan (30) have sustained around 50 per cent burn injuries. Ramraj was owner of a factory in the MIDC Hingna area and Nandan was an engineering graduate, according to police.  A police official said, it seems to well-planned murder-cum-suicide case. Whopping 1,558 persons went missing from Nagpur city in the first five months of this year, of which, 1,284 persons returned to their home on their own or traced by the police. However, 274 persons including 16 children are still missing from the city and no one knows about their whereabouts. The shocking information came to fore during ‘Operation : Shodh’ implemented by the City police to trace the missing persons. A total of 736 women, 668 men and 154 children went missing from Nagpur city till May this year. As per the police records, 1,284 are returned to their home. However, 127 women, 131 men and 16 children are still missing. Commissioner of Police (CP) Amitsh Kumar said that the police station officers were tasked to reach each and every house of the missing person last month. Goon Abu Khan Wanted criminal and drug trafficker Abu alias Feroze Khan was arrested by a special team of DCP (Zone IV) Noorul Hasan from Basura Tola area of Bhandara after seven months of a chase. Abu was operating one of the major drug trafficking networks in Central India and many criminals were working with him to handle the anti-social activities, police said.   “Abu, a notorious history-sheeter in over 50 criminal offences, was arrested after working simultaneously on his call detail records (CDR), Internet Protocol Detail Record (IPDR) and human intelligence for the past few months,” stated DCP Hasan. The Nagpur City police have caught 62 prisoners of Central Jail who did not return to the jail despite their parole period being over. These prisoners were released by the State on parole in 2020 to decongest jails during the Covid-19 pandemic. Commissioner of Police (CP) Amitesh Kumar said that the special operation was conducted to catch these prisoners released on parole. The list of such prisoners was procured from the Central Jail and all police station officers were tasked to catch the prisoners. The police staff visited the residences of these prisoners and took them into the jail. “We have managed to catch 62 prisoners who were not returned to jail despite their parole period being over. Ten such prisoners are yet to be caught,” he said, adding that some of them are ailing and bed-ridden. The police have prepared a list of 48 prisoners whose parole will be over this month. THE Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) Nagpur has got custody of the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist from Jammu & Kashmir who had conducted recce of Dr Hedgewar Smriti Bhavan of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Reshimbag in July last year. Raees Ahmed Sheikh Asadulla Sheikh (26), a resident of Khati Mohalla, Chandara, Awantipora town of Pulwama district in J&K, is being thoroughly interrogated by the ATS since the last two days. During interrogation, Raees reportedly told the investigators that a person named Omar, who is operational commander of JeM’s Nawabpur (Pakistan)-based terrorist launching pad, was his handler.
