Goon Abu Khan arrested after seven months' chase

Goon Abu Khan

Wanted criminal and drug trafficker Abu alias Feroze Khan was arrested by a special team of DCP (Zone IV) Noorul Hasan from Basura Tola area of Bhandara after seven months of a chase. Abu was operating one of the major drug trafficking networks in Central India and many criminals were working with him to handle the anti-social activities, police said.

“Abu, a notorious history-sheeter in over 50 criminal offences, was arrested after working simultaneously on his call detail records (CDR), Internet Protocol Detail Record (IPDR) and human intelligence for the past few months,” stated DCP Hasan. Abu was on the run from November last year after he was booked under stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) for grabbing properties of many persons in Motha Tajbagh area.

During the absconding period, he had taken shelters at Gadchiroli, Ahmedabad, Mehsana, Amravati, Bhandara and Umred and other states too. Last month, a police team reached Ahmedabad where Abu had taken shelter but he managed to flee the house. A special team of a cyber expert, three local cops led by an API was constituted by DCP Hasan for the hunt.

It may be mentioned that Abu had doled out life threats to three persons including Pyare Khan, Talif Baba and Raja. Since then, the police had given security to these persons.

DCP Hasan said that Abu was running the major drug trafficking network from the Motha Tajbag area. His men were playing cards near the Dargah and no one was daring to question them. After slapping MCOCA against Abu, DCP Hasan has crushed Abu’s empire with the arrest of notorious gambler Ibrahim and drug peddler Majid from the area. Both were trusted lieutenants of Abu, the DCP said.

Earlier, Abu was arrested by the then DCP Detection Sambhaji Kadam on January 8, 2019 after arresting his four accomplices with mephedrone (MD) drug worth Rs four lakhs. Investigation of the case had discovered a police-criminal nexus and six police personnel were placed under suspension in February 2019. PSI Nilesh Purbhe of Hudkeshwar police station, PSI Manoj Orke of Sakkardara police station, PSIs Sharad Sikne and Sajid Mowal of Tahsil police station and constables Jayant Selot and Shyam Mishra were suspended for their alleged links with Abu. He will be produced in the court on Monday.

IGP Prasanna : The man who stopped Obama’s convoy

IGP Mallikarjuna Prasanna By Dheeraj Fartode  Published on Feb/17/2019 NOT many are aware of an episode during the then US President Barack Obama’s visit to India in 2010. The world’s most powerful man was made to wait for 11 minutes in his car while an Indian cop took on American officials for their unwarranted interference in the US President’s security. KM Mallikarjuna Prasanna, Special Inspector General of Police of Nagpur Range, still continues to work with the same pride, wearing his patriotism on the sleeve. “Had they (Americans) deployed their personnel for area security, then the message would have been Indians are unable to protect VIPs in their nation,” recounted Prasanna on the episode that is one of the highlights of his distinguished career of a skillful investigator. The story of the IPS officer of 2000 batch is worth a film. In fact, a movie (Nagarjun-starrer ‘Officer’) has already been made by Ram Gopal Verma last year. His real life script also ha

However, the banks were submerged in water after the construction of Gosikhurd dam which led to rise in water levels. Since then, tourist flow at Ambhora has also declined.
