Deceased Aditya Mohite
Khapa police have registered a case of death by negligance after a young man during a late-night party at a farmhouse in the police station limits after his family member alleged gross negligence by those present. The incident took place on the night of November 15, but a case was registered only on December 24, after the post-mortem report was received.
The accused have been identified as Joel alias Juvel Singh, Pankaj Nikas, Abhay Dhabarde, Ravi Fukte, Parag Dhande, Prajwal Sahare, Roshan Randive, Akash Bagul, Hutson Misal, Richard Sakharpekar and Niranjan Chitpalliwar.
The deceased has been identified as Aditya Mohite. According to police, a bachelor party was organised by his friend Juvel Sing at N J Farm House in the Veltur area near Patansawangi. Aditya attended the party with another friend, Tushar Purohit.
During the party, Aditya’s health reportedly deteriorated suddenly. CCTV footage from the farmhouse shows him collapsing and lying unconscious on the lawn for nearly 15 minutes. Family members allege that instead of rushing him to a hospital, those present wrapped him in a bedsheet and shifted him to a room and delayed medical help. They maintain that timely treatment could have saved his life and have held all partygoers responsible for what they call sheer irresponsibility.
On the morning of November 16, Tushar informed Aditya’s brother, Adv Parikshit Mohite, that Aditya was not responding. A doctor present at the venue, Dr. Pankaj , Nikas examined him and reportedly found no pulse. Aditya was taken to a private hospital on Koradi Road, where doctors declared him dead.
Police said they are examining CCTV footage, medical records and other evidence, and questioning everyone who attended the party. Further action will be taken based on the post-mortem findings.
