Shivam alias Shaktiman Shuddhodhan Gurudev (19) was murderously attacked by a group of assailants to avenge the murder of Sawayam Satyaprakash Nagrale (21) on Friday night in Kaushalya Nagar. Investigation revealed that a close aide of Shaktimaan had given a tip-off about the hideout of Shaktiman in the Bhande plot to the assailants.
Ajni police have arrested six persons on the attempt to murder charges. The accused have been identified as Kaushalya Nagar residents Birju Vasanta Shinde (28), Abhijit Dilip Ghodeswar (24), Akash Krishna Manwar (30), Pritam Ambadas Kavale (24), Sunil Vaman Wankhede (39) and Suresh Gopichand Kamble (44).
After the murder of Swayam, the Ajni police had caught two minors and Nishant Ghoreswar, but Shaktiman had managed to escape. Ajni Police and Crime Branch were looking for him. The police teams had visited the house of Shaktiman's uncle in Bhande plot area. However, the family reportedly refused to have any information about him. The police had also searched the house but Shaktimaan was not found there.
A police official said that Shaktiman was in contact with some youths of Kaushalya Nagar. On Saturday at 7.30 am, Shaktiman had gone to Shitala Mata Mandir area to get a Kharra when the assailants caught him and took him to Kaushalya Nagar on motorcycle. Now, the cops are trying to trace the person who gave a tip-off about Shaktiman’s location to the assailants.
It may be mentioned that Swayam Nagarale was killed and Shaktiman left critically injured in a clash between two rival gangs allegedly over financial transactions associated with a gambling den on Saturday. An argument over the gambling den dealings in Kaushalya Nagar snowballed into a fight between the two group. A team from Ajni police station was deployed in the area to ensure the clash between the two groups does not descend further into reprisal attacks.

The world’s most powerful man was made to wait for 11 minutes in his car while an Indian cop took on American officials for their unwarranted interference in the US President’s security. KM Mallikarjuna Prasanna, Special Inspector General of Police of Nagpur Range, still continues to work with the same pride, wearing his patriotism on the sleeve. “Had they (Americans) deployed their personnel for area security, then the message would have been Indians are unable to protect VIPs in their nation,” recounted Prasanna on the episode that is one of the highlights of his distinguished career of a skillful investigator. The story of the IPS officer of 2000 batch is worth a film. In fact, a movie (Nagarjun-starrer ‘Officer’) has already been made by Ram Gopal Verma last year. His real life script also ha
