A 17-year-old girl eloped with her boyfriend when the girl’s father scolded her over the relationship. The girl was traced and sent back home by the police. The police have booked the boyfriend and his two friends on kidnapping charges.
The accused have been identified as Girish Ganesh Godbole (20), Rishikesh Ramchandra Patil (24), both residents of Hill Top and Anurag Gajanan Nagtode (19), a resident of Ganesh Colony, Rana Pratap Nagar.
According to police, the girl was in a relationship with Girish Godbole as they were students of the same college. The minor’s father grew suspicious of her activities as she used to be involved in WhatsApp chatting.
On Friday night, the father checked her phone and found an objectionable chatting message with Girish. He scolded the daughter and asked her to focus on studying. However, the girl contacted her boyfriend and narrated the incident. Girish on Saturday morning reached the home of the minor with two friends and took her with him in a car.
A beat marshal of Ambazari police station noticed the car parked in Ambazari area on Sunday at 1 am. She answered arrogantly when the police asked her reason for staying with youths late in the night. The cops then contacted Belatarodi police and sent the girl back to her home. An offence under Section 363 of Indian Penal Code was registered against the accused and arrested by Beltarodi police.
