In Phoenix Infra scam of Rs two crore, the Economic Offences Wing (EoW) is searching for four fraudsters who went absconding after registration of offence in 2014.
A press release of EoW informed that Vijaykumar Manikrao Gautam and Ahmed Abdulrasool Jiwani were arrested for the fraud while Jitesh Naryayan Nashine, a resident of Plot NO. 3517 (a), 97 Jai Hind Society, Sham Nagar, Somalwada; Yogesh Narayan Nashine, Mahesh Narayan Nashine, both residents of Manish Nagar and Chandrashekhar Motiram Deshbhratar, a resident of Plot No. 108, Panchatara Society, Manish Nagar, are absconding in the case.
The accused had formed Phoenix Infra International Pvt Ltd company and accepted a large amount of investment from gullible investors. The accused promised huge returns to the investors plots and flats in Wathoda, Pevtha, Salai Godhani, Kaladongri, Khapri, Wakeshwar and Parsodi area.
As the accused failed to deliver their promise, the investors approached the police and lodged a complaint. After registration of offence in 2014, the four fraudstes went absconding.
By Dheeraj Fartode Maharashtra's Director General of Police (DGP) Pravin Dixit has rejected the report into the spat between Collector and Superintendent of Police in Bhandara, that had stirred hornet’s nest among the Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre in State. Principal Secretary (Revenue) Manu Kumar Srivastava was appointed by State Government to probe the matter and he had submitted the report to Government and made certain recommendations. One of the recommendation which Srivastava made was to delegated powers of writing annual confidential records (ACRs) of SP's to District Collector. This particular recommendation had the IPS cadre seething with anger as they claimed it an unwarranted intrusion on their powers.
