A man was robbed of a goat of Rs 10,000/- by three robbers after stabbing him with a sharp-edged weapon in Vitabhatti area of Kalamna police station.
The accused have been identified as Chetan Thakur (21), a resident of Aajri-Majri; Shoeb Khan (21) and an unidentified accomplice of the accused. Thakur is a history-sheeter, police said. According to police, Chandan Arun Khairkar (41), a resident of Plot No. 15, Shiv Krupa Housing Society, Napgur, is a cook and has goats.
A few days ago, a goat of Khairkar was stolen. Since then, he was looking for the thieves. On Saturday afternoon, he left the goats for grazing in the Vitabhatti area. At around 2 pm, three people came on a motorcycle and stole a goat. When they were taking the goat on a motorcycle, Chandan saw them. He chased them and stopped at some distance. The three fell on the ground with the motorcycle. Khairkar beat two of them. Meanwhile, one of the accused whisked out a knife and stabbed Khairkar.
Residents of the area gathered at the spot and intervened into the fight. The robbers left the motorcycle there and fled the spot with the goat. As Chetan Thakur is a notorious goon, the locals identified him. Khairkar then approached Kalmana police and lodged a complaint. An offence under Sections 394 and 34 of Indian Penal Code was registered by Kalamna police. Further investigation is on.
