A 30-year-old youth committed suicide following a quarrel with mother over playing of loud music, Nandanvan police said.
Deceased Mayur Manohar Lohkare, a resident of LIG Quarter No. 24/7, Nandanvan, was jobless for the last few months. He was used to returning home after heavily consuming liquor. A few days ago, he got a new job in a sanitizer company as a salesman. However, he attended the work for just a day. On Friday evening, he returned home in an inebriated condition and switched on the music system in loud noise. As his mother was performing Aarti on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi at home, she asked him to reduce the volume. This irked heavily drunk Mayur and he picked a quarrel with mother. Shockingly, he threw the mother out of the house. The mother sat near the house of the neighbour for some time. Meanwhile, Mayur hanged himself from a ceiling fan with a saree and ended his life. The incident came to fore at 7.30 pm when the mother entered the home. A case of accidental death was registered by Nandanvan police. Further investigation is on.
