A 24-year-old youth was arrested by Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Nagpur police who was hiding Mephedrone (MD) and Hashish drugs in his prosthetic leg. The police have seized 131 gm of MD worth Rs 13.10 lakh and 130 gm of Hashish worth Rs 39,000/-.
The accused was identified as Salman Khan Nadir Khan (24), a resident of Faizabad district of Uttar Pradesh. A police official said that Khan was smuggling drugs from Mumbai for two drug-peddlers in Nagpur. Salman is disabled and has a prosthetic leg. Therefore, no one get suspicious of him. He used to take advantage of this in smuggling. The ANC team received a tip-off that Salman is coming to Nagpur from Mumbai with drugs. He boarded a Bihar bound train at Mumbai. The police laid a trap at Eastern gate of Nagpur Railway Station on Monday night. As soon as Salman got down from the train, the police team caught him at the gate. The police were surprised after not finding any drugs with him.
The cops then checked his prosthetic leg and recovered the huge quantity of drugs stashed into the leg. The police are now looking for the drug-peddlers. An offence under Sections provisions of NDPS Act was registered against him at Ganeshpeth police station.
