A newborn girl child was found abandoned in bushes in the Koradi area on Tuesday morning. The child was spotted by a passerby who promptly alerted the police. The Koradi police rushed to the spot and admitted the girl to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H). The police have launched a probe to identify the biological family of the girl.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (Zone V) Neelotpal informed ‘The Hitavada’ that the infant was lying on a cement platform in the bushes. The passersby noticed her at around 7 am and alerted the police. She was taken to the hospital by Woman Head Constable Shoba and other staff of Koradi police station acting in a swift manner early morning. The girl is alive and declared healthy,” DCP Neelotpal said.
Importantly, the child was taken to the hospital before the animal could harm her.The girl is probably kept in the hospital for the next few days under observation. There is no sign of injury on her body. The police are investigating whether the infant was delivered in hospital or somewhere else and awaiting for the report of the doctors. Similarly, the cops are checking CCTV footage in nearby areas to identify biological parents of the girl. An offence under 371 of Indian Penal Code was registered by Koradi Police Station against unidentified accused and launched a probe.
