A man was duped of Rs 20,000/- on pretext of getting his wife admitted in a private hospital, Nandanvan police said.
According to police, wife of Amrendra Narayansingh (60), a resident of Flat No. 203 (A), Jagdeep Apartment, was undergoing treatment at a private hospital. As he was not satisfied with the treatment, he wanted to shift her to some other hospital. A relative of Amrendra gave him the phone number of one Rahul Kumar who is reportedly helping people in the process of admission. When the man contacted Rahul Kumar on his mobile phone, he allegedly asked him to transfer Rs 20,000/- to his bank account to book a bed on Thursday evening. Amrendra transferred the amount in the bank account. When the fraudster again asked for money, Amrendra grew suspicious of him. He visited the hospital and inquired about Rahul Kumar. The hospital staff told him that no such person is working with the hospital. After realising the fraud, the man approached the police and lodged a complaint.
An offence under Sections 419, 420 of Indian Penal Code and provisions of IT Act was registered by the police. Further investigation is on.

The story of the IPS officer of 2000 batch is worth a film. In fact, a movie (Nagarjun-starrer ‘Officer’) has already been made by Ram Gopal Verma last year. His real life script als...
