A male nurse had injected two injections of acidity to a Covid-19 patient struggling for life in a hospital instead of Remdesivir only sell the Remdesivir at high rates and pocket easy bucks, said police officials of Sitabuldi police station investigating the case of black-marketing of Remdesivir injections. After arresting three persons with two vials of Remdesivir on April 20, Sitabuldi police have arrested two more persons including a male nurse and a doctor.
The accused have been identified as Shubham Sanjay Panatavane (24), a resident of Sevagram; Pranay Dinakrao Yerpude (21), a resident of Mahal; Manmohan Naresh Madan (21), Dinesh Gaikwad (27), and Dr Dewani Padole, who is working with a hospital in Sevagram. Shubham, Pranay and Manmohan were arrested by the police on April 20 with two vials of Remdesivir.
During interrogation, Shubham told the police that his roommate Dinesh works as male nurse in Kovidalaya hospital near Jamtha. The hospital nurse gave him two Remdesivir injections and asked him to inject to a Covid patient undergoing treatment in the ICU. Dinesh injected acidity injections to the patient instead of Remdesivir. He made entry of Remdesivir injections in the record book and stole the vials with the intention of black-marketing, said Sr Police Inspector Atul Sabnis of Sitabuldi police station.
Dinesh kept the injections in the room to sell it at high rates. However, Shubham stole the injection from the room. Dr Dewani Padole's name also came to fore during the investigation. Devyani is a physiotherapist in a hospital in Sevagram. She was the one who approached Shubham for the injection. The police took her in custody. Shubham and Devyani are sent to the jail with the three accused.
Two cops contracted Covid-19 during investigation
Sitabardi police had arrested Shubham, Pranay and Manmohan. During the interrogation, their Covid test were conducted. One of the accused was found to be positive. On the basis of Covid report, the court gave bail to the accused persons. Two policemen who interrogated the accused were tested positive recently. They are under home isolation.
