Cracking a whip against rule violators, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone II Vinita S initiated stern action against four restaurants for violating Covid-19 protocol by serving food to customers.
Acting on a tip-off, DCP Vinita conducted surprise checks in the restaurants and found that some youngsters are being served by these restaurants. The youths were found eating the food in the basement of a commercial building. McDonalds in Sadar area was sealed with the help of NMC for circumventing rules and serving orders through Zomato in premises and vehicles. Similarly, Belgian Waffles in the Sadar area was sealed for serving customers in vehicles.
Cafe Illusions in Sitabuldi area was slapped with fine of Rs.25,000/- for serving in customers in vehicles. An offence was registered against Krishnum Plaza under Section 188 of Indian Penal Code and provisions of Epidemic Diseases Act for serving in the premises. DCP Sahu appealed the people to do not violate Covid-19 by visiting the restaurants.
