His hands shook slightly, not out of fear, but out of hope. “I’m trying to find my daughter Aarti’s gold earrings,” he said quietly, still focused on the box. “She’s just five. I got them made recently after months of labour work.” The plastic box, warped and blackened by heat, was one of the few things left from his two-room house on the outskirts of Dhamangaon village . An 18-year-old polytechnic students attempted to committ robbery at State Bank of India in Vaishali Nagar on Friday. He pocketed Rs 1.13 lakh from the bank and luck ran out as vigilant citizens caught and bashed him.
According to Pachpaoli police, the boy is student of Government Polytechnic College and also a photographer. He was in the need of Rs 10,000/-. As the there is very few customers in the banks, he decided to rob the bank near his house.
After doing recce of the bank, the entered at 11.45 pm with a sharp-weapon. He caught hold a sanitation worker Tushar Bawangade and threatened him with the sharp-weapon. He took the man near the cashier Sarika Jambulkar and also threatened her with the weapon. On his demand, the woman gave him Rs 1.13 lakh from the cash counter. When the youth went out from the bank, the staff alerted passersby who immediately caught him. He was handed-over to the police. An offence under Section 392 of Indian Penal Code was registered by Pachpaoli police.
