A Village Burnt Overnight: Tears, Loss and Survival in Dhamangaon Blaze

  Sitting amid the blackened remains of his home, 32-year-old Nikesh Gawali carefully broke open a half-melted plastic box with a screwdriver. His hands shook slightly, not out of fear, but out of hope. “I’m trying to find my daughter Aarti’s gold earrings,” he said quietly, still focused on the box. “She’s just five. I got them made recently after months of labour work.” The plastic box, warped and blackened by heat, was one of the few things left from his two-room house on the outskirts of Dhamangaon village . All around him lay ash, broken tin sheets and charred wooden beams. The walls had cracked under the heat and the front room’s tin roof had caved in completely. What remained was a blackened debris all around - almost nothing to suggest a home once stood there. Nikesh earns his living as an agricultural labourer, like many in the village. Police arrest one for stealing Sandip Joshi’s Innova SUV

Bajaj Nagar Police have arrested a youth for stealing Innova Crysta SUV of BJP leader Sandip Joshi and also recovered the vehicle. The accused is history-sheeter goon having 18 offences against him. 
The accused has been identified as Sandesh Siddharth Bhoyar (35), a resident of Plot No. 6, Rahate Nagar, Ajni. 
Police Inspector Raghvendra Kshirsagar of Bajaj Nagar Police Station informed that the accused had introduced himself as Sandesh when he came at Joshi’s residence. After getting the key, the accused vanished from the spot. 
During investigation, the police have searched crime record in Crime and Criminal Tracking Network (CCTNS) in the name of Sandesh and got the result. The Police then launched searches for Sandesh Bhoyar and visited his house. He was not present at the house and his mobile phone was switched off . Acting on a tip-off, the police have arrested the accused from Rambagh Maitri Bauddha Vihar on Sunday evening. 
According to PI Kshirsagar, the accused was in inebriated condition when he was nabbed by the police. He was admitted to the hospital as he consumed too much of liquor, the PI said. The accused would be produced in the court on Monday.  The accused was having 18 criminal offences against him from year 2003 to year 2016.
Under the guidance of DCP Zone I Vivek Masal, the arrest was made by ACP Kishore Jadhav, PI Kshirsagar and staff including Sanjaysingh Thakur, Kishore Band, Govinda Barapatre, Prafulla Pawar, Vinod Dwivedi, Gautam Ramteke, Dhiraj Thote, Subhash Gajbhiye, Sunil Karpe, Amit Giradkar and Sameer Bajanghate.
