IGP Chandra Kishore Mina By Dheeraj Fartode Chandra Kishore Mina, an IPS officer of the 2006 batch, has been awarded the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service. Currently serving as Special Inspector General of Police (IGP) for the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Mina has held several important positions in Nagpur and the Vidarbha region. While serving as ASP in Gadchiroli, Mina led a successful anti-Naxal operation in 2009, which resulted in the Petha encounter, weakening the Naxal movement. This operation earned him the DG Insignia. As SP in Akola and Nanded, Mina used innovative methods to maintain communal harmony and resolve tensions effectively. Secretary General of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Milind Parande on Saturday said that more than 25,000 of Muslims and Christians were reconverted in Hindu religion in 2018. “We are organising reconversion programmes regularly across the country to reconvert Muslims and Christians in Hindu religion. The programme was conducted this year too but the figures are not compiled,” he said.
Addressing a press conference, Parande said that religious conversion is a national problem. “VHP want a bill which will make it difficult to convert people to other religions. Conversion is an attack on country and a conspiracy to divide it again by attacking the roots of our national culture,” he said and added that
On the issue of Ram Mandir, Parande said that the VHP was expecting positive verdict in Ram Mandir case as all archaeological facts were in the favour of Ram Mandir. “We are expecting result before November 17,” he said.
When asked about killing of Hindus in the parts of country, Parande accused Muslim intruders for the attacks on Hindu. “Amendment in Citizenship bills needs to be done to secure Hindus in the country,” he said.
