It write official letters, scan bank data and spot suspicious transactions. It sounds like science fiction - but it’s now reality in Maharashtra. The state police have started using Crime-OS, a powerful Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool developed under the MARVEL project (Maharashtra Research and Vigilance for Enhanced Law Enforcement). This tool, built in partnership with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur, works like the co-pilot feature in Microsoft Office - but to solve crimes. It helps police save valuable time and reduces the heavy workload of investigations. State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) Group IV have received ISO certification for achieving stipulated parameters in policing, a senior official said Sunday. The certification is given by Geneva-based International Standards Organisation (ISO) on the basis of various parameters.
State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) Group IV have received ISO certification for achieving stipulated parameters in policing, a senior official said Sunday. The certification is given by Geneva-based International Standards Organisation (ISO) on the basis of various parameters.
A team of ISO conducted survey on August 18 and given some guidelines. Commandant G Shridhar completed all the formalities within two months required for the certificate.
The certificate was received for ideal furniture, drinking water system, toilets, use of modern system for maintaining records, vehicle parking, tree plantation, names to the offices, job profile, mess for policemen and others.
Police personnel were briefed about working in a certain manner to improve the functioning of key areas which constituted the focus of ISO.
It was received on October 18 and handed-over to Commandant of SRPF Group No. 15 Javed Anwar. A press release issued of SRPF informed that the ISO certification would help the force to build up mental and physical strength. Debt-ridden govt employee commits suicide
A Debt-ridden government employee committed suicide at his home in Manewada area under the jurisdiction of Hudkeshwar police station area.
Pradip Vasantrao Sidam (34) hanged himself from a ceiling fan with a nylon wire at his home - Plot No. 220, Shrikrishna Nagar, said Hudkeshwar police. He took the extreme step from 11 am of Saturday and 1 pm of Sunday. Pradip was working in the office of ITI in Sadar area. He was under stress due to huge debt. His family members had promised him help of Rs three lakh, said the police quoting statement given by his brother Chandu Sidam (42). The police have registered a case of accidental death. Further investigation is on.
