The officer is accused of abusive and degrading behaviour, particularly targeting accused in Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Sources claim that the senior officer arrives at the police station and calls the accused into a separate room, where the officer not only hurls abuse at the accused but also spits at their face. Later, the officer allegedly kicks the accused in the private parts. In some incidents, when a couple approached a police station in Nagpur to file a complaint following a domestic dispute, the police sent a proposal for preventive action to the officer. However, instead of handling the matter professionally, the officer allegedly made the man sit down, then kicked him in the private parts and leave him in pain and humiliation. State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) Group IV have received ISO certification for achieving stipulated parameters in policing, a senior official said Sunday. The certification is given by Geneva-based International Standards Organisation (ISO) on the basis of various parameters.
State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) Group IV have received ISO certification for achieving stipulated parameters in policing, a senior official said Sunday. The certification is given by Geneva-based International Standards Organisation (ISO) on the basis of various parameters.
A team of ISO conducted survey on August 18 and given some guidelines. Commandant G Shridhar completed all the formalities within two months required for the certificate.
The certificate was received for ideal furniture, drinking water system, toilets, use of modern system for maintaining records, vehicle parking, tree plantation, names to the offices, job profile, mess for policemen and others.
Police personnel were briefed about working in a certain manner to improve the functioning of key areas which constituted the focus of ISO.
It was received on October 18 and handed-over to Commandant of SRPF Group No. 15 Javed Anwar. A press release issued of SRPF informed that the ISO certification would help the force to build up mental and physical strength. Assistant Commandants P N Dawre, D N Dhawle, Prashant Joshi and others were present at the occasion.
Debt-ridden govt employee commits suicide
A Debt-ridden government employee committed suicide at his home in Manewada area under the jurisdiction of Hudkeshwar police station area.
Pradip Vasantrao Sidam (34) hanged himself from a ceiling fan with a nylon wire at his home - Plot No. 220, Shrikrishna Nagar, said Hudkeshwar police. He took the extreme step from 11 am of Saturday and 1 pm of Sunday. Pradip was working in the office of ITI in Sadar area. He was under stress due to huge debt. His family members had promised him help of Rs three lakh, said the police quoting statement given by his brother Chandu Sidam (42). The police have registered a case of accidental death. Further investigation is on.
