Major reshuffle expected in Maharashtra Police leadership

The State Home Department in Maharashtra is gearing up for a significant overhaul of its top police leadership, including the position of Director General of Police (DGP) and Police Commissioners of Nagpur and Thane. The impending retirement of the current DGP, Rajnish Seth, on December 31 has prompted the department to commence the process of selecting his successor.A top rank official said that several prominent names have emerged as contenders for the esteemed position of State DGP. The frontrunner is Senior IPS Officer Rashmi Shukla, who currently serves as the Director General (DG) of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar is also a strong candidate for the role. Other notable contenders include Thane CP Jaijeet Singh, DG ATS Sadanand Date, DG Police Housing Sandeep Bishnoi, DG Railway Pradnya Sarvade, Additional Director of NIA Atulchandra Kulkarni, and DG State Security Corporation Bipin Kumar Singh, he said. BJP and Congress supporters come to blows in Saoner

The BJP and Congress supporters on Monday clashed with each other following a quarrel over clicking of pictures near a polling booth at Sillewada. Windshield of a car of BJP candidate for Saoner assembly segment Dr. Rajiv Potdar was damaged by Congress supporters during the fight. Khaparkheda police have registered cross complaint against supporters both parties. 
Dr. Potdar was arrived at Sillewada with his supporters in the afternoon. When he entered a booth, one Congress supporters objected him and asked to do not enter in the booth with such a large supporters. Dr. Potdar did not responded to him and entered in the booth. Meanwhile, the Congress supporter clicked his picture. 
When Dr. Potdar came back, he asked his supporters to take the picture of the Congress supporter. At the same time, someone pelted a stone at vehicle of Dr. Potdar damaging its windshield. He somehow managed to move from the spot and reached Khaparkheada police station. On the basis of complaint given by BJP’s Chhaya Dhole, an offence under Sections 143, 147, 323, 504, 506 and 427 of Indian Penal Code was registered against Vasundhara Shahane, Pandhari Shahane, Nikhil Shahane, Chhatrapati Bopche, Pankaj Khapre, Nandu Bhad, Shrikant Uke, Girdhar Marbate, Pravin Dugane, Ashish Bhad, Sagar Shende, Pratik Shahane, Ramrao Marbate, Shubham Hiwrade, Golu Wagh and others. 
Congress supporters also rushed to the police station and lodged a complaint against BJP supporters and Dr. Potdar. On the basis of compliant given by Congress’ Vasundhara Shahane, an offence under Sections 143, 147, 354, 504, 506 and 323 of IPC was registered against BJP supporters. SP Rakesh Ola had visited the spot and a large number of police personnel were deployed in the area. 

Girl raped with false promise of marriage

Iamambada police have booked a youth for raping a teenage girl with false promises of marriage. 
The accused has been identified as Nikhil Sham Jawade (28), a resident of Imambada. The accused had called the girl at his house on October 11 at 9 pm and raped her with false promises of marriage. On the basis of complaint given by the girl, Imambada police have registered the case under Sections 376 of Indian Penal Code read with Section 3, 4 of POSCO Act. 

Rs 22,000 withdrawn from Axix bank account without knowledge of account holder 

An unidentified man withdrawn Rs 22,939/- from an Axis Bank account of a woman. 
The money was withdrawn from the account on Sunday evening. Complainant Samra Sohel Patel (26), a resident of Flat No. 201, Amar Villa, Jafar Nagar, told the police that she had not never shared One Time Password (OTP) to anyone. But the money was debited from her bank account, she told the police. Gittikhadan police have registered the case under Section 420 of Indian Penal Code read with Section 66 (d) of Information Technology Act. 

Rs 2.16 lakh stolen from dickey of Activa 

Cash worth Rs 2.16 lakh was stolen from dickey of a scooterette in Tehsil police station area. 
Complainant Virendrakumar Malchand Maheshwari (65), a resident of Plot No. G-18, Anand Palace No. 2, Nandanvan lay-out runs Shankar Hardware shop in Loha Oli, Itwari. He kept Rs 2.16 lakh cash in the dickey of his Activa moped (MH-31/BR-3465) on Saturday morning. The moped was parked near his shop. Someone had stolen the cash from the dickey and fled the spot. The theft came to fore when Maheshwari opened the dickey and found that the cash was stolen. On the basis of complaint given by him, Tehsil police have registered the case under Section 379 of Indian Penal Code.

DCP Sunil Kolhe gets IPS cadre

DCP (crime) Sunil Kolhe By Dheeraj Fartode About 28 State Police Service (SPS) officers were granted  Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre on Monday. At Nagpur, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (Crime) Sunil Kolhe is among these officers. With their promotion, Maharashtra Government will fill-up the existing vacancies of cadre posts across the State. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government of India, approved the promotion and Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), issued the notification of 28 state police officers into IPS cadre.  Maharashtra Government had earlier empanelled the 28 officers for promotion of SPS officers into IPS and criteria was they should have served for atleast eight years as Superintendent of Police (SP) or Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).
