Major reshuffle expected in Maharashtra Police leadership

The State Home Department in Maharashtra is gearing up for a significant overhaul of its top police leadership, including the position of Director General of Police (DGP) and Police Commissioners of Nagpur and Thane. The impending retirement of the current DGP, Rajnish Seth, on December 31 has prompted the department to commence the process of selecting his successor.A top rank official said that several prominent names have emerged as contenders for the esteemed position of State DGP. The frontrunner is Senior IPS Officer Rashmi Shukla, who currently serves as the Director General (DG) of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar is also a strong candidate for the role. Other notable contenders include Thane CP Jaijeet Singh, DG ATS Sadanand Date, DG Police Housing Sandeep Bishnoi, DG Railway Pradnya Sarvade, Additional Director of NIA Atulchandra Kulkarni, and DG State Security Corporation Bipin Kumar Singh, he said. Sex racket busted in Kotwali area, three woman rescued

Social Security Branch (SSB) of City Police busted a prostitution racket at DK Resto and Lounge and Rooms in Kotwali area and rescued three girls including a Kyrgyzstan national. The cops have arrested four persons in this connection. 
The accused have been identified as Dipesh Dilip Kanabar (35), a resident of Matoshri Apartment, Satnami Nagar, Central Avenue; Sachin Kashinath Sonarkar (34), a resident of Sanjay Gandhi Nagar, Ram Nagar; Ankit Kishor Wahane (19),  a resident of Bhande Plot, Umred Road and Rajesh Harishchandra Gokhe (35), a resident of Bapu Kuti Nagar, Pachpaoli. 
Acting on a tip off, a decoy customer of police contacted the accused on telephone and fixed the deal. The customer reached the resto at 9 pm and given money to the accused. The police raided the resto after signalled by the decoy. 
A police officer informed that the accused had constructed eight rooms in the resto where he was providing the girls for Rs 5,000 to 15,000. The girls were travelling by flights and roaming in the Honda City car. The police have seized the car along with four mobile phones. 
An offence under Sections 370 of Indian Penal Code read with Sections 3, 4, 5, 7 of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) was registered at Kotwali police station against the accused. 
Under the guidance of Addl CP Nilesh Bharne, DCP Gajanan Rajmane, ACP Sudhir Nandanwar, the arrest was made by PI Kishor Parwate, API Anupama Jagtap and staff includng Nagorao Ingale, Narendra Baghele, Sandesh Patil, Jawahar Dhonge, Vilas Choubitkar, Chandrakant Ghagare, Nitin Wankhede, Surekha Sandekar, Geeta Sharma, Shrikant Marwadi, Vandana Devkate, Chhaya Raut, Seema Baghele, Bhimrao Meshram, Yogesh Ippar and others. 

Gujarat man booked for doing unnatural sex with boy 

Wadi police have booked a Gujarat man for allegedly doing unnatural sex with an 18-year-old boy. The accused has been identified as Sanjaysingh Shriransingh Thawar (37), a resident of B/26/ Shrivijay Nagar society, New VIP Road, Baroda, Gujarat. According to police, the accused met the boy during a train journey in year 2016. Soon after, the accused befriended with the boy on Facebook and was in contact with him on telephone. A police officer said that Thawar was in the city for business work. He was staying at a room near Naka Number 10. He called the boy at his room and exploited the the boy. He also shot the video and threatened the boy of making the video clip of viral on social media. Wadi police have booked the accused under Sections 377, 323, 506 of Indian Penal Code read with Sections 4, 6, 8 and 12 of POSCO Act.

Longest cable-stayed bridge to boost tourism at Ambhora

CONSTRUCTION work of 700-metre-long cable-stayed bridge, longest in the country, with a viewing gallery at the top at Ambhora in Kuhi tehsil is near completion. DCP (crime) Sunil Kolhe By Dheeraj Fartode About 28 State Police Service (SPS) officers were granted  Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre on Monday. At Nagpur, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (Crime) Sunil Kolhe is among these officers. With their promotion, Maharashtra Government will fill-up the existing vacancies of cadre posts across the State. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government of India, approved the promotion and Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), issued the notification of 28 state police officers into IPS cadre.  Maharashtra Government had earlier empanelled the 28 officers for promotion of SPS officers into IPS and criteria was they should have served for atleast eight years as Superintendent of Police (SP) or Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).
