  Sitting amid the blackened remains of his home, 32-year-old Nikesh Gawali carefully broke open a half-melted plastic box with a screwdriver. His hands shook slightly, not out of fear, but out of hope. “I’m trying to find my daughter Aarti’s gold earrings,” he said quietly, still focused on the box. “She’s just five. I got them made recently after months of labour work.” The plastic box, warped and blackened by heat, was one of the few things left from his two-room house on the outskirts of Dhamangaon village . All around him lay ash, broken tin sheets and charred wooden beams. The walls had cracked under the heat and the front room’s tin roof had caved in completely. What remained was a blackened debris all around - almost nothing to suggest a home once stood there. Nikesh earns his living as an agricultural labourer, like many in the village. Girl committs suicide at hostel due intense pressure of college project

Depressed over her college project being incomplete, a 18-year-old girl student of fashion designing college committed suicide at hostel in Ambazari police station area on Wednesday afternoon. The girl was third year student in a fashion designing college in Gokulpeth.
The deceased has been identified as Palak Vinod Bhandari, a resident of Dhanadi village in Umarkhed tehsil of Yavatmal district. She was living with three friends in a room at Jainam Girls Hostel, Bajiprabhu Nagar. 
According to police, September 5 was the last date of filing the project and Palak was struggling to complete the project. Palak was working on the project for last three days without sleeping in night that caused severe acidity to her. Her cousin sister - Jinesh Pagaria (19) who also was staying at the same hostel - helped her to complete the project but Palak was under tremendous pressure. 
Palak committed suicide on Wednesday at 12 noon when she was alone at the room. She hanged herself from ceiling fan with a rope. The rope broke after sometime and her body fell on the floor. 
The incident came to fore when her roommates came to the hostel. As Palak was not responding to her phone, the girls called the hostel warden who broke-open the door and found Palak lying on the floor. They took her to private hospital where doctors declared her brought dead. Suicide note was not found at the crime scene. Ambazari police have registered a case of accidental death.

At Nagpur, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (Crime) Sunil Kolhe is among these officers.
