Major reshuffle expected in Maharashtra Police leadership

The State Home Department in Maharashtra is gearing up for a significant overhaul of its top police leadership, including the position of Director General of Police (DGP) and Police Commissioners of Nagpur and Thane. The impending retirement of the current DGP, Rajnish Seth, on December 31 has prompted the department to commence the process of selecting his successor.A top rank official said that several prominent names have emerged as contenders for the esteemed position of State DGP. The frontrunner is Senior IPS Officer Rashmi Shukla, who currently serves as the Director General (DG) of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar is also a strong candidate for the role. Other notable contenders include Thane CP Jaijeet Singh, DG ATS Sadanand Date, DG Police Housing Sandeep Bishnoi, DG Railway Pradnya Sarvade, Additional Director of NIA Atulchandra Kulkarni, and DG State Security Corporation Bipin Kumar Singh, he said. DLSA’s peon arrested for accepting bribe Rs 4,000

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested a peon with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 4,000 from a man. The accused demanded the money to held up issuance of warrant from the court in a dowry case. 
The accused has been identified as Abdul Salim Abdul Jabbar (45). According to ACB, the complainant is the resident of Bhandara. He tied nuptial knot in year 2013 and a case under Section 498 (a) of Indian Penal Code was registered against him at Kamptee police station on the basis of complaint given by his wife. 
Abdul befriended with the victim during court proceedings at Kamptee. Abdul was used to make phone calls to victim asking for monetary favours. 
On September 20, he phoned the complainant and asked for Rs 4,000 bribe to held up issuance of warrant from the court. The complainant then approached the ACB and lodged a case against him. The ACB team laid a trap and arrested the accused when he received the bribe near office of Saini travels, Chhatrapati Square. An offence under various Section of Prevention of Corruption Act was registered against the accused at Rana Pratap Nagar police station. Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police (SP) Rashmi Nandedkar, Addl SP Rajesh Duddalwar, DySP Sandip Jagtap, the arrest was made by PI Gorakh Kumbhar and staff including Sunil Kalambe, Ravikant Dahat, Laxman Parteki, Vakil Sheikh and others. 

Supervisor crushed under crane in Pardi 


A supervisor was killed when a crane crashed at Mahalaxmi Trading Corporation in Pardi police station area on Friday night. 
The deceased was identified as Pramod Madhukar Dhomne (37), a resident of Pardi. According to police, the accident occurred at 7.30 pm when Pramod was supervising loading of material in the truck. The crane toppled after the operator lost control over the machine due to uneven surface. Pramod was crushed to death under the crane. Akshay Ramteke, a resident of Pardi informed that labourers rescued Pramod and transported him to hospital with the help of police where doctor declared him brought dead. The company is owned by one Sanjay Omprakash Agrawal. 
Pardi police are investigating the case.

Longest cable-stayed bridge to boost tourism at Ambhora

CONSTRUCTION work of 700-metre-long cable-stayed bridge, longest in the country, with a viewing gallery at the top at Ambhora in Kuhi tehsil is near completion. DCP Sunil Kolhe gets IPS cadre

DCP (crime) Sunil Kolhe By Dheeraj Fartode About 28 State Police Service (SPS) officers were granted  Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre on Monday. At Nagpur, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (Crime) Sunil Kolhe is among these officers. With their promotion, Maharashtra Government will fill-up the existing vacancies of cadre posts across the State. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government of India, approved the promotion and Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), issued the notification of 28 state police officers into IPS cadre.  Maharashtra Government had earlier empanelled the 28 officers for promotion of SPS officers into IPS and criteria was they should have served for atleast eight years as Superintendent of Police (SP) or Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP). The list includes names of officers belonging to Deputy Superintendent of Police (Dy.SP) batches between 1988 and 1995, who were promoted to the IPS cadre. The officers are S V Jadhav, B G
