Dabo club Nagpur Efforts to reopen the controversial Dabo Club, which was shut down for 45 days following the murder of two young men, have triggered strong anger and fear among the families of the victims. The incident took place in the early hours of December 26 last year during a Christmas party at Dabo Club. Pranav Ranavare (27) was allegedly killed after a minor dispute. His friend, Gaurav Karda (34), was badly injured in the same incident and later died during treatment. The Sonegaon police arrested six accused - Soumya Deshmukh, Mehul alias Monu Rahate, Rajiv Chawla, Abhay Jhamtani, Gappu Sharma and Tushar Nankani. All the accused are currently lodged in jail. The club is owned by Directors Devyani Vijay Wadettiwar, Karan Vikram Thakkar and Mohd Hamza Rayeen. As many as 32 persons sustained injured when the MSRTC bus in which they were travelling in crashed into the bridge railing in order to avoid collision with a truck on the Saoner-Katol road near Jhilpa village on Tuesday afternoon. The bus got stuck on the roadside concrete railing preventing it from falling off the bridge.
According to police, the accident occurred when the bus was heading towards Saoner from Katol. After the bus crossed Isapur village, a truck which was also going in the same direction, suddenly came in front of the bus. The bus driver applied brakes to avoid collision and lost control over the bus. The bus hit the retention wall of the bridge and stuck to it. The front portion of the bus was badly damaged in the accident.
The passengers were seriously injured due to forceful impact of the collision of bus against the retention wall of the bridge. A large number of villagers were gathered at the spot following the accident. Former minister Anil Deshmukh was also rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to hospital. He also arranged private doctors at the hospital for treatment of patients. Around 15 seriously injured passengers were shifted to GMCH at Nagpur.
Jham builders booked for fraud of Rs 19.74
Beltarodi police have registered an offence under fraudster Hemant Sikandar Jham (30) and his uncle Mukesh Hansaraj Jham (43) for duping a man to the tune of Rs 19.74 lakh.
According to police, Jham Builders and Developers Pvt Ltd had given an advertisement about Kanhaiya Heights in year 2010. Complainant Dharmarao Sukhaji Moon (68), a resident of Raghuji Nagar, had booked a flat for Rs 22.21 lakh and paid Rs 19.74 lakh to the accused. The complainant had also booked a shop in the society and the accused had given possession to him in year 2014. However, the complainant later learnt that the shop was sold to Vishwashanti Co-op Society. The Jham builders also had not given possession of the flat to the complainant.
On the basis of complaint lodged by the man, Beltarodi police have booked the accused under Sections 406, 420 and 34 of Indian Penal Code read with Sections 3, 5, 7, 8, 11 and 13 of Indian Penal Code.
