Major reshuffle expected in Maharashtra Police leadership

The State Home Department in Maharashtra is gearing up for a significant overhaul of its top police leadership, including the position of Director General of Police (DGP) and Police Commissioners of Nagpur and Thane. The impending retirement of the current DGP, Rajnish Seth, on December 31 has prompted the department to commence the process of selecting his successor.A top rank official said that several prominent names have emerged as contenders for the esteemed position of State DGP. The frontrunner is Senior IPS Officer Rashmi Shukla, who currently serves as the Director General (DG) of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar is also a strong candidate for the role. Other notable contenders include Thane CP Jaijeet Singh, DG ATS Sadanand Date, DG Police Housing Sandeep Bishnoi, DG Railway Pradnya Sarvade, Additional Director of NIA Atulchandra Kulkarni, and DG State Security Corporation Bipin Kumar Singh, he said. Ornaments worth Rs 40,000 stolen from woman's bag in auto-rickshaw

Gold ornaments worth Rs 40,000 of a woman were stolen when she was traveling in an auto-rickshaw in Nandanvan area. 
According to police, Shilpa Ravindra Nimcharkar (49), a resident of Plot No. 128, Telecom Colony, boarded in the auto at Rana Pratap Nagar to visit her brother’s house in Nandanvan area on Wedensday at 3.30 pm. When the auto was passing through Swami Narayan temple road, an unidentified woman co-passenger stolen her gold ornaments kept in a bag. Nandanvan police have registered the case under Section 379 of Indian Penal Code. 
In another case, gold ornaments and cash collectively worth Rs 45,000 of a woman stolen from the bag at MSRTC Bus Terminus, Ganeshpeth. According to police, the incident occurred on September 5, when Gayatri Charudatta Hirde (35), a resident of Chandangaon, Chindawara, MP came to the bus terminus. Unidentified woman had stolen gold ornaments and Rs 5,000 from her bag. Ganeshpeth police have registered the case under Section 379 of IPC. 

Youth molest niece, booked

Nandanvan police have booked a youth for molesting two girls. On of the victim is niece of the accused. The accused has been identified as Ganesh Ashok Chawke (22), a resident of Nandanvan. According to police, the accused molested the girls when they came at his home. On the basis of complaint given by parents of the girls, Nandanvan police have registered the cases under Sections 354 of Indian Penal Code read with relevant sections of POSCO Act. Further investigation is on. 

Two persons commits suicide in Nandanvan and MIDC 

Two persons have committed suicide in Nandanvan and MIDC police stations area. In the first case, Shubham Diliprao Kadam (26), a resident of Plot No. 40, Dhanwanatari Nagar, committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan. The incident occurred between 8 am and 2 pm when Shubham was alone at home. Nandanvan police have registered a case of accidental death. Further investigation is on. 
In yet another case, 45-year-old man ended his life hanging himself from a ceiling hook. The deceased has been identified as Anand Ramu Sahare, a resident of Vinoba Ngar, Isasani, Hingna Road. According to police, the incident occurred at around 4.30 pm. However, reason behind Sahare’s extreme step could not be ascertained so far. MIDC police have registered a case of accidental death.

Longest cable-stayed bridge to boost tourism at Ambhora

CONSTRUCTION work of 700-metre-long cable-stayed bridge, longest in the country, with a viewing gallery at the top at Ambhora in Kuhi tehsil is near completion. DCP Sunil Kolhe gets IPS cadre

DCP (crime) Sunil Kolhe By Dheeraj Fartode About 28 State Police Service (SPS) officers were granted  Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre on Monday. At Nagpur, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (Crime) Sunil Kolhe is among these officers. With their promotion, Maharashtra Government will fill-up the existing vacancies of cadre posts across the State.
