The State Home Department in Maharashtra is gearing up for a significant overhaul of its top police leadership, including the position of Director General of Police (DGP) and Police Commissioners of Nagpur and Thane. The impending retirement of the current DGP, Rajnish Seth, on December 31 has prompted the department to commence the process of selecting his successor.A top rank official said that several prominent names have emerged as contenders for the esteemed position of State DGP. Two goons torched a car Maruti Brezza car of a woman in Nandanvan area in wee hours of Tuesday.
Bina Dilip Bashru (46), a resident Plot No. 592, Deshpande lay-out, near Hanuman temple had parked the car (MH-49/BB-7559) near the house. She along with family members were in slumber when the incident occurred at 3.30 am. Unidentified goons torched the car after pouring petrol over it. The car was badly damaged in the incident. Nandanvan police have registered the case under Sections 435 and 34 of Indian Penal Code.
Goon attempts to loot lottery centre in Ajni
A goon attempted to loot an owner of lottery centre with a toy gun at Tukdoji Putala Square in Ajni police station area on Wednesday night.
According to police, accused Ikshmuddin Neer Moiyuddin Sayyad (29), a resident of Bada Tajbagh, came to Sanjay lottery centre at 9.30 pm and threatened the owner - Satish Diwakar Nandurkar (35), a resident of Plot No. 76, Gajanan Nagar, Manewada with a toy gun. However, Nandurkar and other overpowered him and foiled the bid. Ajni police have registered the case under Section 393 of IPC.
