Dabo club Nagpur Efforts to reopen the controversial Dabo Club, which was shut down for 45 days following the murder of two young men, have triggered strong anger and fear among the families of the victims. The incident took place in the early hours of December 26 last year during a Christmas party at Dabo Club. Pranav Ranavare (27) was allegedly killed after a minor dispute. His friend, Gaurav Karda (34), was badly injured in the same incident and later died during treatment. The Sonegaon police arrested six accused - Soumya Deshmukh, Mehul alias Monu Rahate, Rajiv Chawla, Abhay Jhamtani, Gappu Sharma and Tushar Nankani. All the accused are currently lodged in jail. The club is owned by Directors Devyani Vijay Wadettiwar, Karan Vikram Thakkar and Mohd Hamza Rayeen. A herd of goats was mowed down by a train at Borgaon Khurd village of Kalmeshwar tehsil on Saturday. According to information, more than 25 goats were crossing the railway line when a speeding train mowed them down in the evening. The train was moving at the speed of 90 km/hour. Famer Harshal Dhole, a resident of Borgaon Khurd village was distressed following the incident as it has resulted in a loss of around two lakh to him. The hit was so powerful that the goats were thrown in the bushes. Many of them were crushed under the wheels of the train. A total of 15 goats were killed in the accident.
A large number of villagers were gathered at the spot. The villagers demanded compensation to the farmer. Train movement was not affected by the incident.
Youth killed in accident
A 23-year-old youth was killed in a road accident near Saoner on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Gopal Prabhakar Drugwar (23), a residen of Ward No. 4, Patansaongi, Tehsil- Saoner.
According to police, the accident occured on late Friday night when Drugwar was heading towards home on his Acitva moped (MH-40/AW-6593). The youth was riding the moped in great speed. He failed to control the vehicle rammed into an unidentified vehicle. Sustaining grivesus injuried, the youth died on the spot. His moped was badly mangled in the accident. Saoner police have registered the case under Sections 279, 304 (a) of Indian Penal Code and 184 of MV Act.
