Sitting amid the blackened remains of his home, 32-year-old Nikesh Gawali carefully broke open a half-melted plastic box with a screwdriver. His hands shook slightly, not out of fear, but out of hope. “I’m trying to find my daughter Aarti’s gold earrings,” he said quietly, still focused on the box. “She’s just five. I got them made recently after months of labour work.” The plastic box, warped and blackened by heat, was one of the few things left from his two-room house on the outskirts of Dhamangaon village . A youth attempt to murder stepmother over property issue in Jaripatka area on Friday. The victim is Pramila Manohar Patil (45), a resident of Plot No. 15, Sushila lay-out while accused has been identified as Ravi Manohar Patil (30), a resident of Indora Model Town.
The police said, Ravi encroached upon land plot of Sushila at Nazool lay-out. When Pramila asked Ravi to remove the encroachment, the accused attacked her with iron road. Pramila sustained grievous injuries in the attack and admitted at hospital. The Jaripatka police have registered the case under Section 307 of Indian Penal Code.
