IGP Chandra Kishore Mina By Dheeraj Fartode Chandra Kishore Mina, an IPS officer of the 2006 batch, has been awarded the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service. Currently serving as Special Inspector General of Police (IGP) for the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Mina has held several important positions in Nagpur and the Vidarbha region. While serving as ASP in Gadchiroli, Mina led a successful anti-Naxal operation in 2009, which resulted in the Petha encounter, weakening the Naxal movement. This operation earned him the DG Insignia. As SP in Akola and Nanded, Mina used innovative methods to maintain communal harmony and resolve tensions effectively. He uncovered a state-wide kidney transplant racket in Akola and, as DCP in Nagpur, dismantled organized crime syndicates through MCOCA and MPDA cases. Suresh Prabhu in Nagpur on Tuesday

Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu will be in city on Tuesday. He will flag-off Pune AC Superfast Express and announce two special trains during his stay at Nagpur. 
A senior railway official informed that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister for Surface Transport Nitin Gadkari would accompany Prabhu during inauguration of various development work at Nagpur Station.  
Prabhu will flag-off 22124/22123 Ajni–Pune-Ajni AC Superfast Express (Weekly) and announce two new trains -- 22125/22126 Nagpur-Amritsar-Nagpur AC Superfast Express (Weekly)  and  22117/22118 Pune-Amravati-Pune AC Express (Weekly). He will also dedicate Amla-Parasia Electrification Work, LED lighting at Nagpur, Ballarshah, Wardha and Sewagram Stations,  Free Wi-Fi at Nagpur Station,

Laying of Foundation Stone for Nagpur – Itarsi third line, Wardha-Ballarshah third line, Wardha-Nagpur third and fourth line, FOB at Nagpur Station along with 5 Lifts,
Doubling of Chord line from Godhani cabin to Kalumna, Development of Ajni as Satelite Terminus, Water Recycling Plant at Ajni, Improvement to Facade and Passenger Amenities at Godhani Station, Wadsa-Gadchiroli New Line, Coaching Depot at Itwari Station and Coach POH facility at Motibagh Workshop.

Longest cable-stayed bridge to boost tourism at Ambhora

CONSTRUCTION work of 700-metre-long cable-stayed bridge, longest in the country, with a viewing gallery at the top at Ambhora in Kuhi tehsil is near completion. The bridge would be open for traffic in December this year providing a major boost to tourism at Shree Chaitanyeshwar Mahadev temple at Ambhora. It is set to open doors of development for the backward area of Kuhi and Umred tehsil. Ambhora, located 75 km from Nagpur city, is a famous religious and tourist place in Vidarbha. It is situated at the confluence of five rivers -- Wainganga, Kanhan, Aam, Kolari and Murza. Just around a decade ago the river bank housing Ambhora used to see a flux of tourists from all over the State.
